"Performing in PSL is like performing in international cricket" : Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq at a media talk today:

"We should give everything it's value. PSL has the advantage of giving players exposure, performing in PSL is like performing in international cricket. The amount of media focus and the atmosphere is the same as in international cricket. But yes we do need to value performers in domestic cricket and give them respect and give more chances on the basis of domestic cricket. If domestic cricket performers are given chances here in PSL then I am sure they will do well also"

"It's the end matches and all teams have match winners. It's T20 cricket and you can't say anything, 1 or 2 innings can win a game. Whichever team performs well on their day will win"

"The important thing for us was that despite so many things going wrong for us, we still needed 14 off 4 in the last over and we were close to winning the game. If we improve by 10-15% in all facets of the game then the team has the strength to win the next 2 games"

"It does feel strange to change teams after being with a team for 3 years, but as professionals, our job is to do whatever is required whether that's as a player, a mentor, a senior. We need to keep giving our input and remain honest to our profession. The atmosphere at PZ is excellent and I am enjoying being a part of it"

"The experience of PSL is good for players, these are pressure games specially for the batsmen. Most of the performing batsmen are experienced batsmen who have an idea of how to handle pressure situations. Our young players who are inexperienced are struggling a bit but when they play consistently they will improve. The franchises need to give young batsmen chances on a consistent basis so that they can develop"

"Even the international players who are making runs have a lot of experience and have played in many leagues. If you look at the Pakistani players like Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad, these are players who have experience. If we give youngsters chances on a regular basis (batsmen) then they'll improve. I think right now it's too early for many of the youngsters"

"All players need to have lots of discipline in terms of everything whether it's in terms of food, sleep, training. If you want to consistently perform in the longer run then you need to focus on these aspects which I think is a little lacking. Those youngsters who follow these guidelines have high fitness levels. You have to make sacrifices, you have to train, you have to be careful about what you eat and you need get proper rest"
