Lmao I swear there is this huge thread on here that Bangladesh is the second best team in Asia lmfaooo they getting plowed by a c Zimbabwe team who havenít played cricket in ages let alone prolly havenít even eaten a good meal in a long time looking at the price of of an egg that country. Man seriously the amount of chest thumping Bengalis on here cheeses me even if Bangladesh go on to win from here they are just such a hopeless cricket team even after all these years they are still minnows.

Day by day it's getting into more & more embarrassing state - we must have to do something to change the situation. The two younger players trying to save face came to bat at 7 & 8, which probably tells what's going on here. Must have to change personals here.

That sounds depressing. Why would you guys support a team that hasn't improved in 20 years despite being well funded? Bangladesh best format is ODIs yet haven't even won Asia Cup once (let alone ICC trophies like CT or WC). As for tests and T20Is, the less said the better.

This is quite unnecessary question - people support teams from their emotion. I have seen India not winning a single Test outside home (Ok 2, one at Colombo & one at Dhaka) for 16 years .... still I haven't seen Indian spirit (Media mockery) dying in any away Tests.

It's not that I am trying to back this performance, but don't question the integrity of the supporters, which is uncalled for - teams relegated in League football enjoys sell-out crowd.

Did Bangladesh find a new superstar? Afif scored 50 from 24 balls.

    3 needed from 5 balls.

It's a T20I against Zimbabwe bro. I dunno why BD is even playing Zim. Didn't they lose their test status recently or something?

It is better to win against them than lose.

Zimbabwe still have Test status but they are suspended due to administrative reasons. Nothing to do with performance.

I see. Are the players all playing or on strike?

Some players are missing due to various reasons (personal reason, retirement etc.).

    Zimbabwe is in a mess.

Anyway. Bangladesh won. Big embarrassment avoided.

    They botched it. We survived.

    Well played, Afif.

    Izzat bal, bal bach gaya.

Next game, need to put Afif at 3 & Mosaddek at 4 ..... and Batu to carry drinks. Ever since goofing up Willamson's run-out, this guy has lost his confidence, even smile - he needs to spend some times outside No. 4, may be send him as opener and ask to go after from ball 1. In couple of years time, anyway, he'll lose his keeping spot to Akbar.

Well done, Bangladesh. We avoided a massive embarrassment.

Also, congratulations to Zimbabwe. Very good performance from them.

Suddenly all of our senior players are playing badly at a time. We lost to Afgans, whitewashed against Lankans because of this. Liton Soumya can't lead the batting when it is needed.

Not saying it's a good sign, but it's better of the two worse that they are declining with 3+ years to go for next WC.

It's essential that BCB takes bold calls and gradually bring Saif, Afif, Yasir, Naim in to the system. Domingos has a tough task to do, and better he starts from fresh - after U19 WC, I expect at least 4-5 boys to be called immediately.

Bangladesh got their T20I tri-series campaign off to the perfect start with a three-wicket, last-over victory over Zimbabwe.

Afif Hossain, 19 years old and playing just his second T20I, was the star. He masterminded a lower-order recovery, as Bangladesh recovered from 60/6 in pursuit of 145 from 18 overs in a rain-affected clash.

However, having raced to 52 off 25 balls, and brought the equation down to five needed off the last over, he hit Neville Madziva straight to Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza to threaten a twist in the tale. But Mosaddek Hossain, who played the foil perfectly, kept his calm and struck a pair of twos to seal victory, finishing unbeaten on 30 off 24 balls.

Earlier, it had taken a lower-order recovery of their own to get Zimbabwe up to a competitive total. After Masakadza bludgeoned 34 opening the batting to take his side past 50 for the loss of just Brendan Taylor for 6, a slide of four wickets for 12 runs reduced the tourists to 63/5.

Mosaddek was key, taking 1/10 in three overs to restrict Zimbabwe, while Taijul Islam, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Mustafizur Rahman all claimed a wicket apiece.

It was left to Ryan Burl to salvage the innings, which he did in some style, smashing 57 off 32 balls, including 30 off a single Shakib Al Hasan over. With Tinotenda Mutombodzi offering solid support, Zimbabwe finished with 144/5 and the momentum going into the innings break.

They kept up the pressure at the start of the chase too, with Tendai Chatara and Kyle Jarvis razing the top order. Liton Das was the only member of the Bangladesh top four to make it into double figures before he became the first to fall, bowled by a perfect yorker from Chatara.

The same bowler accounted for Bangladesh captain Shakib, who nicked to first slip, while in between, Jarvis accounted for Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim, the former holing out to mid off as he misread a slower ball, and the latter taking his eye off a short ball and edging behind.

Bangladesh were 29/4, and though Mahmudullah and Sabbir Rahman took their side past 50, Burl and Madziva struck in consecutive overs to seemingly swing the contest decisively Zimbabwe’s way. Instead, a precocious youngster who hadn’t read the script announced himself in style to save his side.
