Tbh, this match looks very one-sided in Australiaís favour despite the practice matches.

Still, looking forward to Naseemís debut. Heís already showing huge potential.

Needs support from others to flourish. Good thing about Aamer in 2010, he had likes of Asif and Sami who always ended up taking wickets.

Hasnain is no drama he has huge potential ...you dont find pace hanging from trees...he needs to sort his run up and inshallah you see then.

Its about the batters i dont see anybody surviving starc or cummins unfortunately

Hasnain is a work in progress he is starting from a very low base in terms of development hence it will take him longer to be international standard compared to Shaheen or Naseem however a 6 foot 2 who can hit 150 should never be underestimated just never know when he might align everything together.

    That's a bit harsh.

He's a young prospect with raw attributes (i.e pace, height).

I wasn't really following cricket back then as there was no way to in New Zealand and I was really young, but was Amir hyped before he debuted or after he debuted. Naseem has been being hyped since last year, not just by fans, but by the NCA and now by Cricket Australia. This is certainly the first time I have ever seen a player getting so much hype before his debut, not just by fans, but by cricket professionals too.

Yeah was pretty young myself back then and wasn't on PakPassion so can't really say for sure. I do remember my family being excited when a 17 year old Amir was picked in the WT20 squad in 2009, so I'm sure there was at least some hype prior to his debut as well.

Naseem's hype has been since last year, even before he was selected. Pakistan seem to be producing a star bowler every decade, or two each decade. Let's hope Shaheen and Naseem are those 2. Some of those star talnets waste their talent like Asif, Amir, Shoaib Akhtar; and some make the most of it like Wasim and Waqar.

I am worried about this kid he is young and playing his first test just went through a massive loss in his life and now he is being hyped by everyone. This amount of pressure is not good for anyone that being said this is what legends are made of.

I am planning to stay awake and see him bowl tonight and I hope he comes out good.

Making your Test debut is scary enough. Making your Test debut when you’re 16 years old is scarier.
But facing your first ball against a Mitchell Starc hat-trick ball might be the scariest.

That’s exactly the task that Naseem Shah was dealt with on the first day of the Gabba Test.

Starc had already dismissed Yasir Shah and Shaheen Afridi and had his eyes on young Shah for his hat-trick ball.

He was dealt a thunderbolt and just managed to avoid chopping it onto the stumps with an unorthodox French cut.

The 16-year-old immediately decided to run but was sent back by his batting partner Asad Shafiq in an eventful first ball of his career.

Josh Hazlewood was watching on from the field and while it was an eventful start to a Test career, the Aussie paceman didn’t have much sympathy for the teenager.

“It was quite a welcome to Test cricket. He dug it out,” Hazlewood told reporters.

“We saw a few dangerous shots there at the end but they can be dangerous period those if they get 20-30 in what may be a low scoring (match), we don’t know but all runs are valuable for sure.”

With Shafiq being the senior batsman, you’d think he would be the one giving Shah some advice on how to face this monumental task.

But Shafiq told reporters it was the other way around.

“I think he is giving me advice,” he said.

“He is confident enough and it didn’t look like his first game.

“He is confident and that shows very good thing that he is a very strong character and I think that could help in his bowling as well.”

Starc eventually got his man though, with Shah hitting it straight into the Aussie quick’s hands to see Pakistan all out for 240 runs.

Earlier in the day, Shah shed tears when presented with his Test cap by Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis.

Younis told Fox Cricket’s Cricket 360 that his mother’s recent passing cause his emotions to spill.

“It was tough. Tough for him as well as the entire unit because for the last sort of week or so, it’s been really tough on him and all we did was just give him soothing hugs and wrapped our arms around him,” Younis said.

“We wanted to send him back for the funeral and stuff. Since then, he’s been pretty strong actually.

“I’m looking forward to him running in tomorrow and bowling some good deliveries.”

SO many people over here were saying they reckon Naseem is at best a 135-140 kph bowler. So far he hasn't bowled a single ball under 142 kph and has crossed 147 multiple times.

I was one of those. Must say I'm surprised. Its still not enough to trouble top order bats. Realistically, he is 18-19 years old. S its likely he won't put on more pace.

But a great action and if he learns to hit the right lengths, move the ball and can reverse the ball (like he has done in those YT vids) he can be a top-tier Test bowler.

Usually pacers keep increasing in pace until they are in their mid 20s. I reckon he will bowl better in his next spell or next game, sometimes bowlers on debut can have a lot of nerves.

Indian fan shouldn't jealous when you already have great fast bowling unit.

Already bowl quickest delivery of match beating ferry starc and hit one batsmen on shoulder .i think not a bad start when he has only bowl 5 overs

A very interesting prospect with huge potential. I am slightly doubtful about his age though considering what used to happen with desi cricketers. PCT should keep him away from T20s at this stage. Even compensate him to not play PSL.

He should give it his all. There may not be a second innings from his perspective.

Average pace is 144.5-145 kph. SLowest ball 141.6 kph and fastest ball is 148.1 kph.

He also bowled with amazing control in his second spell and got a few to swing.

Regardless of number of wickets he gets in this match, he is an exciting pace bowler. His action looks good. I wish him to become a very successful bowler. Test cricket will be alive with such players.

Never thought I would say this, but this kid would thrive so much better with Indian team management. If ordinary Indian bowlers can look like world beaters under Kohli and Bharat Arun, imagine what he is capable of doing.

Any news on him as he trudged off before close of play today and commies were saying it could be a hamstring injury for the kid.

I did not watch his spell much but what were his speeds like? Only saw the one over he bowled in the end with 140kph was his fastest.

From what I saw, he crossed 147 KPH multiple times and topped out at 148.1 KPH.

Although, I did miss the last session, so I'm not sure if he went past that mark.

As expected he lost some pace final season but still was hitting low 140 consistently. Imran not being able to do the donkey work hurt Naseem returns in the end as he had to bowl one spell too many.

Said so before too that Imran does not seem to have the fitness levels for international cricket as he bowled the least amount of overs between the 3 pacers.

He is sharp, and will trouble batsmen as long as he bowls 90mph spells. However, not being tall enough is real disadvantage for his later spells unless he shows an ability to reverse swing like Shami.

Bowled pretty well for his first test and that too in Gabba. Would have gotten a few wickets if Pak batsmen were in front of him or there would have been some assistance.
