Afghanistan has 3 of the world's best T20 spinners. In Indian conditions against Windies they are always going to be a force. In right conditions they can roll over any side.

Just watched the highlights to witness another incredible knock from King Kohli.

It really is a privilege to watch him in full flow, yet some will try to gloss out of it by diverting to his little stunt. Some cannot stand a successful Virat Kohli!

What's fake? That they were no.1?
Did someone just hand them that no.1 ranking?
They won 11 consecutive series and beat NZ in NZ 2-1 when NZ were no.1 in the T20i rankings. Just because they're not performing now doesn't mean that their no.1 ranking was "fake".

India is a weak T20 team. Even Pakistan has a reasonably good chance to beat them if Bumrah, Kohli, Rohit, Shami does not play or if random incident happens.

That said, the shorter the format, bigger the role of a random incident (a catch drop, mistimed six, a hopeless player making quick 30 of 10) or fate.

So any of the top 8 teams can beat other on its days. Thatís why T20 world cup is more a circus than a real sports. T20 should be limited to club-matches.

    Exactly !

They wont even touch the T20 knockouts and semi in which Kohli got us through single handedly. It has to be a 50 over knockout, with 47850 people watching, on a 2nd Saturday, in the month of June blah blah blah..

Admittedly, Kohli could have done better (because he is kohli of all people) but to call him a bottler of all people is a whole new level of stupidity.

If any player in the last decade has thrived and hit top gear under pressure it is the king himself.

Its just sad to see such demeaning comments from Indian fans. Especially if one has seen teams performance through the 90s.
Eden gardens semifinal was a bottle job.
    Chennai test match too.
    So many instances.

Failing to chase 340 against a resurgent opposition is not bottling in any universe.

    Meanwhile king continues being kingly.

India isn't weak but not the best.
india and Pakistan are about equal at full strength in t20.
Australia is only good in Australia.
saffers are underrated in this format.

n.z and England are probably no 1 and 2 in t20 although india did get the better of England last time with a weakened squad.

Lol what? Those 3 games were most important games during that period. Even if he had performed in 1 out of those 3 games no one would have questionned it.

I also find it remarkable that fans like you give so much importance to statistics but when it doesn't suit your agenda you will bring other factors like pitch, bowling attacks, team strength into discussion to bring a player's achievements down.

The games he performed in are ignored, 2011 WC Final , 2013 CT Final and 2016 must win match against Australia were all very high pressure games. Obviously people won't talk about them when they have to prove one side of the story.

it's odi. Test is real cricket. kaptaan performs in tests and his team is ranked numero uno for the past 4 years now. That's better than any world cup win.

Anyway I agree in odi only the world cup matters.

Failed in 3 chases ( 2 of them big chases) against 3 left armers who were bowling well. Can happen bit like how Sachin failed in 2 finals, Viv Richards failing in 2 of the 3 finals. In one of the CB series where India had to win in certain number of overs to keep their hopes alive. He rose to the occasion. If he had flopped the entire world cup it makes sense (like Inzamam, Mahela failed in entire 2003 world cup). He bloody scored 5 fifties in the world cup.

the intensity level is far higher in ICC tournaments than bilaterals and even champions trophy. Yes kohli needs to perform in odi semis and finals but nothing beats being number 1 in test rankings. In saying that, I don't believe in the world test championship structure where one final game decides rhe winner. it should be a proper 3 test series for the grand final to determine who truly is the best in the world.

Being ranked number 1 for 4 years and then topping the ladder stages would account for nothing. That's some rubbish rule. That's why I rate rankings in test far higher than any other achievement in the game of cricket.

odi world cup however can stay the same. The pressure plus intensity level over a 7- 12 game tournament complements the gruelling test championship well.

Tests ultimately is the real true form of the game so as long as kohli performs there, his icc record shouldn't matter because he is already a world cup winner anyway.
