Age. He can't do the same thing that he used to do now. WOn't say washed up. He still could make runs here and there. Probably his game is suitable for ODI.

Both Kane and Taylor should be nowhere near the T20 set up.

Your entire batting unit should be nowhere near the T20s because they're simply crap! Bangladesh gave a better fight to India than this crap of an NZ team!

What sort of batting is this - win toss, batted first at home on those 50 metre grounds.... and now 125 after 19.3 overs, more hilariously only 4 down, after openers putting 48 in 6 power play overs!!!!

OK - time to troll BD, once more.

Pitch is slow I think. Same surface was used for last match. India also bowling slower balls making it hard to hit.

Bro - that ground has squire boundary at exactly 48 metres and Jadeja went for 2/18 .... I donít think there is any slow wicket that actually pulls the ball after pitching, otherwise on that ground even standing dead balks you can send to crowd.

its not easy but it isn't a 130 pitch. They have really screwed up, though credit also goes to our bowling. They are easily 25-30 short.

It was a pathetic effort with the bat.

What we're doing with Kane and Taylor is what India were doing with Rahane and Dhoni and T20s. Not their game or are too old.

Not watching the T20, but surprisingly there is absolutely no effort as it seems - I could have understood that had they been 34/4 or 9 down at the end, but from 0 down in 6 overs, donít think there are worse example of screwing a game of T20.

Maybe you are right but I felt the ball was not coming on at all and messing with timing . If Indian batsmen don't have the same issues , then yes it would have been poor batting. I think NZ didn't expect it to be this slow and they should have tried for 155-160 score. Confused approach.

Lol if its so easy in this era why can't Rishabh Pant average 50 in LOI's? I guess you would rather have a guy who average 25 with a strike rate of 100 than a guy who values his wicket.

When Pant throws his wicket and puts his team in trouble, he becomes a selfless guy who plays for team. When Rayudu values his wicket, provides stability and let other guys around him play he becomes a selfish guy.

You are the same fans who will start crying the moment fans from other countries call Sachin a selfish player lol using the logics you are using here.

Dravid played more than 300 ODIs with an average of less than 40 and a strike rate of just 71.

Ponting also played more than 300 ODIs. His average was 42 and SR was 80.

Jaques Kallis played more than 300 ODIs. His average was 44 and SR was 72.

Not comparing Rayudu with these players but just exposing your hypocrisy here. Players with similar stats have played in the past and are still playing for their team. Not everyone has the power of Pant to clear the boundary on every ball and throw his wicket away lol.

All of the players mentioned above have played against poor teams in their playing days.

He can never succeed against swing with that technique. He plays with straight bat well infront of his body. SO there is a low percentage of not catching the edge.

He sucked against top teams. He won't check those things lol Grand total of 80 runs in 6 innings against Australia strike rate 66. 13.33. Even against Bangladesh Rayudu 8 matches 86 runs 14.33 avge strike rate 64.17. He has a total number of 1694 runs. Our resident expert is comparing this guy with Rahul Dravid, Kallis who have over 10000 runs lol

Rayudu averages 50 because he got a lot of chances when India were sending their B team against Zimbabwe, West Indies and Afghanistan. He is good for 80 strike rate against average bowling attacks as he doesn't throws his wickets but not a long term solution for Indian team.

Shreyas Iyer is a huge upgrade over him. Pant is a different kind of player and more suited to 5 or 6 but he also needs improvement in his game.

Our resident expert is comparing this guy with Rahul Dravid, Kallis who have over 10000 runs lol
Mr Analyst I already mentioned in my post that I am not comparing those players with Rayudu. Read it properly. I just said that players with similar stats have played for their teams in the past and are still playing.

If Rayudu had a bad series against one team whats the guarantee he wouldn't have improved his record against them in the next series? Are you trying to suggest Dravid, Ponting and Kallis always had good record against top teams and never had one bad series against them?

Kohli had a poor test series against England in England but he turned it around the next time he visited them. Rayudu played 50 matches and those guys played 350 matches. At least use your brain for once.

This is why i keep asking whether you watch eeven one match or you just go through cricinfo? Looking at this match thread you don't really pay attention to match. You just have fixed opinions and repeat the same again and again.

You can't compare the SR of someone who played in the 90s and mid 00s to this generation. Its fairly obvious why.

Now, between players like KW and Rayudu, you may have a point. However, Kane plays as the Middle over anchor in that team. We already have players like Rohit and Kohli to do that. Our no.4 needs to be an enforcer generally. Our no.4 only needs to play the anchor role in situations where we lose early wickets. Also, you will not find many people going gaga over Kane's ODI record.

What was surprising was that Rayudu was left out in the WC squad after having been the no.4 for the last 1 year. Even though the decision should have been taken long back, it was the right decision.
    1. Shankar offered a bowling option
    2. Shankar seemed solid enough in the few chances he was given
    3. It wasn't like Rayudu had set the world on fire and was also on the wrong side of 30. So its not like he was going to be part of the team in the long run.

I am actually watching the match because I think its meaningful. I am not someone who call these matches meaningless and still waste my time on watching and commenting on them. I am surely not confused here.

I comment on BD match, IPL match, Under-19 match. Watching the match doesn't mean i take it "seriously" . As i said you need help. You don't post anything related to match in match threads. May be they should moderate match threads a bit more strictly.

May be you should stay on topic. You were talking about Rayudu and I quoted your post. Yeah mods should moderate these threads a bit strictly and throw out members who keep calling these matches meaningless yet still posting in them.

We've been bad in all facets tonight

Standards have slipped immensely under Kane's captaincy.

McCullum wouldn't have stood for these performances and given the boys a kick in the backside.

Kane is too timid to lead.
