United. Losing Polard is a big blow to Zalmi’s chances of winning the league. Having lost Rossuo is a big blow to QG’s chances as he was a stabilising factor in the middle order. KK and LL have non existent middle orders and MS is too volatile to predict.

All teams barring Lahore have a decent chance
Full credit to Micky Arthur for realizing Babar Azam was born to bat at 3 in all formats.

Islamabad. It's the weakest team they have had in a while and with Misbah ad Shadab at the helm, it's going to be hard but I think they can still win if they play the right team.
Zafar and Amad should get as many games as possible.

Islamabad or Quetta. I’m rooting for Lahore, but not expecting anything different from them this year, it’s going to be the same old Lahore :/

I am putting in Multan Sultans! They did really well last year but then lost their way - this time probably better prepared and have a good coach with them too

Both QG and KK have strong teams, but most importantly they have excellent captains as well.
Definitely the two favourites.

Karachi seems to have a decent squad this time.
But, Imad Wasim and Wasim Akram will ruin their chances.
Islamabad this time has a strong chance as Misbah is there.
Misbah is the most successful PSL person, knows how to win the tournament and a tactical genius. Don't see any team beating ISLU.
ISLU it is.

Quetta have consistently done well and with the addition of Roy, their batting looks even more threatening. I would class them as the favourites, but Karachi have a good squad, and should be challenging Islamabad and Quetta.

To be honest - at this point - they all look equally capable. Only question I have is about Lahore Qalandars - the first week will show if they are in the mood for something special.

My personal bet is on Zalmi. Banton will be the breakout star of this tournament and win games single-handedly imo. Paired with Kamran, Zalmi's batting lineup looks the most destructive. It would also be a very smart decision if they played Haider Ali.
Karachi will get to the playoffs and most probably will get to the finals as well. But they'll choke at the last minute, much like the Melbourne Stars or the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Quetta will lose more matches than most here are expecting. Shane Watson is past his prime, Naseem won't get too many matches due to injury risk (definitely missing out on the first two matches), and Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad are carrying the burden of the batting line-up much like last time. But lightning doesn't strike the same spot twice, and just because they performed last year doesn't mean they can both continue that consistency.
Lahore will win more matches than most are expecting. They will still finish last. This will primarily be as a result of excellent bowling from Rauf, Shaheen, etc. Expect to see Qalandars defending low scores in 2 or 3 matches, possibly against Quetta and Islamabad. They'll lose all the rest.
Islamabad United will do decently but won't win the tournament.
My rankings are:
Zalmi (2nd in group stages, Champions in Final against Karachi)
Karachi (Group leaders, choke in Final against Zalmi)
Islamabad (Lose to Zalmi in playoffs)
Quetta (Average tournament, won't be able to defend their title)
Multan (Will record some upsets especially as the squad begins to click towards the end, but not enough for the playoffs. They will come out of it a better squad though and will look good heading into next year).
Lahore (Will record 2 upsets and lose all their other games).Last edited by Thunderbolt14; 20th February 2020 at 05:13.

Early days, but the teams mostly look quite well-balanced. I'd back QG, PZ, IU and KK to make it to the play-offs.

Kings still look good and I think they'll have learnt from that defeat versus Quetta especially regarding strike-rotation and team selection.

Right now they are a little bit off balance, they should have picked some better wicket-keeper batsman. Their top 4 will have to fire on regular basis because their lineup wont be able to defend low totals most of the times.
and yeah, their 8 overs of dot balls against QG cost them match.

It has to be Peshawar. Remember, they have Pollard to join them as well later. He'll come in for Livingstone or Banton. That's a LOT if firepower in that batting line up. Remember, even Wahab, Hassan Ali and Mohammad Mohsin can give it a smash

i think eventually Karachi, they have powerful batting and good enough bowling.
Sharjeel wil win them a match or two, Babar wil do the same, and sometime later in tournament Amir will perform too.
Love for all hatred for none.

Karachi look like favorites to me at this point. They seem to have good momentum going and don’t have any glaring weaknesses.
If they do go all the way, it would confirm Dean Jones as the PSL GOAT..
