So guys normal pitch vs. Multan they bat deep but their bowling isn’t super strong. Their highest skill bowler would be diamond contract after the swaps they have made.
Their line-up will probably look something like this
1) 95
2) 90
3) 85
4) 80
5) 80
6) 80/70 (bat A/R) - off spin
7) 70/70 (Khusdil - left leg spin)
8) 85 ball (pacer)
9) 85 ball (pacer)
10) 80 pacer
11) 75 (Tahir) or another spinner AR with low batting and bowling skill
My suggestion for the team line-up is to go with 3 pace and 2 spin attack. Also keep me and Babar a bit apart so as to try and maximise the impact of platinum batters
1) Smudger
2) Rayyman
3) World Cup captain (platinum contract)
4) Babar
5) Da_Futur_Knick
6) Watsupdoc
7) Ahmedharis1
8) Jibran
9) Amir
10) thunderbolt
11) Usama Mir

I like that you're top loading with righties given that most of their bowlers are righties. Small change is I would keep the order the same except for making one of the openers a leftie to account for Babu Bhaiya (diamond) who is changing from rightie to leftie (only leftie bowler in the squad) and will be taking the new ball.
1) Amir
2) Jibran
3) World Cup captain
4) Babar
5) Da_Future_Knick
6) Watsupdoc
7) Ahmedharis1
8) Rayyman
9) Thunderbolt14
10) Smudger
11) Usama Mir
Thoughts @world cup captain @Watsupdoc?

Given our spinners, let's look to bat first. The deterioration should help our spinners especially since their middle order is composed of mostly right-handers. Batting second shouldn't be terrible because our attack should be able to hold them to a below-par total.
1) Amir
2) World Cup captain
3) Jibran
4) Babar
5) Da_Future_Knick
6) Watsupdoc
7) Ahmedharis1
8) Rayyman
9) Thunderbolt14
10) Smudger
11) Usama Mir
The only thing I would change is swap Jibran with me. Due to the mandatory wicket loss in the first couple of overs, I rather lose a bowler trying to hit our than a batsman.

Ok so Jeetu went ahead and made Thunderbolt platinum and I am a diamond (makes no difference in our strategy). Given the higher rating, thunderbolt is batting up the order.
1) Jibran
2) Thunderbolt14
3) Babar
4) Da_Future_Knick
5) Watsupdoc
6) Ahmedharis1
7) Rayyman

Let’s wait and see maybe he didn’t see the other post.
I think it should be fine to cancel the other contracts swap you had put earlier and put the new ones in (Babar as platinum now and Arshad as regular / World Cup captain as platinum now and Rayyman as gold) - since it was still before the deadline.
Thunderbolt remains at diamond
@jeetu @Batman that should be fine right?

Multan's Line Up
65/55 (Off Spin)
90/0
85/0
95/0
70/70 (Leg Spin)
80/0
80/0
55/65 (Leg Spin)
30/85 (Fast)
20/75 (Leg Spin)
30/85 (Fast)
Their #2,#3 and #4 will be the main challenge so hopefully, Amir and I can rip them out and our spinner can feast on their middle order.
Their bowling very weak but depends on the deterioration of the pitch. They're only playing 2 pacers and 1 proper leggie and 3 AR spinners. If we bat first, we should be able to smack them around easily.
We'll go back to our initial line up.
1) Jibran
2) Amir
3) Babar
4) Da_Future_Knick
5) Watsupdoc
6) Ahmedharis1
7) Rayyman

Is Babar at 1 down ideal? This will mean he will almost certainly face the new ball
A bowler opening against the new ball on a normal pitch against diamond is pretty certain to lose his wicket. If Amir gets out in the first or second over for example, Babar will have to face the third over which will be bowled by Babu Bhaiya
I actually like this lineup most for the above reasons. But your decision skip

Spin is just slightly weaker than ours:
Batman, LegSpin, Right, 85 and Major, BowlAR, OffSpin, Right, 65
Ours is
Smudger, LegSpin, Right, 80 and Usama Mir, Leg Spin, Right, 75
If we went with dry, I would still go with 4/1 personally to take advantage of the pitch attributes.
But the greatest advantage is if we went spicy, it would allow us to back our bowlers against their strong batting lineup but their bowlers won't find as much help (due to lower attributes and limited number of good pacers). While our batsmen would hypothetically be lower rated, IU will run out of bowlers to trouble us with once we get through the new ball and it should be smooth sailing from there even on a spicy pitch if we bury our platinum's lower down the order. On the other hand, the spicy pitch allows us to provide bite against the 4 batsmen, against whom we will be helpless on a dry pitch.
To me, it's a very clear move to go 5/0 on a spicy pitch (replacing Smudger with iPakistani) and allow our bowlers maximum penetration. Anything else would run the risk of their batsmen cutting loose, and like you said, it's a positive approach to back our bowling.Last edited by Thunderbolt14; 9th April 2020 at 18:09.

Yea I agree we should go for Spicy or Devilish.
Devilish is a bit more risky, but might well be worth the risk and an experiment.

7) Rayyman
8) Jibran

Going to tweak the line up a little bit. We lost the last game because we lost our batsmen at the top. If we win the toss, the two bowlers should be able to bat an over or two so our batsmen pounce no the weaker bowling.
On the other hand, if we lose the toss, chasing will be tough. The last thing we want is to lose a couple of batsmen in the first two overs. I rather have a slower start because our batsmen can make up for it later against weaker bowling.

I'm inclined to chase given the batting nature of the pitch but worried we will choke to low-level spinners again.
We haven't tried opening with gold batsmen yet, may as well give that a go too.

Also doesn’t matter about batting or bowling first. Go with your gut feel.
I personally think we should bowl first.

Let’s be positive and give ourselves some credit. We did amazingly in the last game until Waz sent his signal from the dressing room to Doc in the middle

For match 9 against Quetta, thinking of going with either flat or pancake. Till now, they have lost their two games on batting friendly pitches, dry and flat, both against Lahore and batting first.

What a loss some time it’s the batting collapses and some time it’s the high skill bowlers that go for plenty.
One thing is for certain though bowling skill is useless
So let’s play all our games on batting paradises now

Hopefully the road will suit fast bowlers because of the pace.

@world cup captain @Thunderbolt14
In the end qualification might depend on NRR.
Is it worth taking a gamble against Quetta and going for a nightmare / unplayable pitch?

Don’t worry, our bowlers will go for plenty on a nightmare track too. But yes, we need to up the net run rate as qualification looks difficult otherwise

If we could wait until the result of match against Lahore that would have been perfect
If we win the next 3 we’ll go through for sure. But honestly winning against Zalmi at their home looks difficult.
So it’s upto you skip go with what your gut says.
