Will the Pakistan players and officials be able to adhere to ECB's quarantine guidelines?

Well they are finally in England and starting the 14-day quarantine mandated by the UK govt. Given the fun and games when it came to doing basis social distancing back home by some, I would think that our boys will find it a test of resolve to go through this process in UK - especially as each move by them will be scrutinized carefully.

So will they be able to hack it and come out of this 14 day period unscathed?

I worry about some of the younger players that are in the squad.

It only takes one error of judgment.

It's important to emphasise that it's not just the Quarantine Period.

The formal agreement with the ECB and the UK government is that Pakistan has agreed to remain in a Biosecure Bubble from arrival at Manchester Airport until departure 8 weeks later.

    This means that

    1. No player is allowed to exit from the hotel or its attached ground at any time between arrival on 28 June and departure eight weeks later and

    2. No player is allowed to meet with any individual from outside their Biosecure group during that 8 week period.

They are not permitted to go for a walk to the park. They are not allowed to go outside for a cigarette. They are not allowed to go to the shops. They are not allowed to go to a restaurant. They are not allowed to invite friends or family to enter the hotel to spend time with them. They are not allowed to have a woman up to their room. They are not allowed to sit with a journalist for an interview.

The whole Biosecure Bubble is compromised if anybody does any of those activities.

(To be honest, it's also compromised if the ground staff and hotel staff don't also live at the hotel for the duration and isolate from their own friends and family).

So it's not about Social Distancing. A Biosecure Bubble requires Total Isolation.

    Sounds more like a jail.

I'm pretty confident players will be responsible.

The idea of a Biosecure Bubble is very different from what is being proposed to the BCCI by Cricket Australia. It has probably been undermined by the behavior of the idiots who celebrated Eid in Melbourne, but the information that I have been given is that Cricket Australia has proposed three options to the BCCI, each subject to change if infection rates change.

OPTION 1: Quarantine for 14 days in country New South Wales, then play 4 Tests in Sydney and Newcastle behind closed doors and have no restrictions on activities any different to any NSW resident.

OPTION 2: Quarantine for 14 days in Perth, then play 4 Tests in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane with socially distanced (1/4 capacity) crowds. So 15,000, 15,000 and 8,000 capacity which is relatively normal for those grounds.

OPTION 3: If the pandemic worsens, quarantine and stay at The Adelaide Oval hotel and follow the ECB Biosecure Bubble model, with the players confined to the ground and hotel.

Hopefully there's a few good desi restaurants nearby, that will deliver. I'm sure that will keep the boys happy.

Seriously though, it's up to the senior guys and the management to keep the youngsters in check.

    I worry for them.

We all know that Leicester is now the worst-afflicted City in Europe. But do you know which city is number 2?

    Bradford!

Friends and family and fans of this Pakistan team pose a serious risk to this team.

And the third worst hit town in Europe is Rochdale.

And the fourth worst hit is Oldham.

Thatís for infections - not deaths - but it tells you that the British Pakistani population is behaving in unsafe ways and spreading the virus.

Which means the team needs to be kept in its Biosecure Bubble at all costs: Covert contact with local fans could be disastrous, especially given how close Oldham, Rochdale and Bradford are to Derby and Old Trafford.

So if the worst affected European towns right now are:

    1. Leicester
    2. Bradford
    3. Rochdale
    4. Oldham

....we see that for all the London-centric media considers the virus to have passed, Pakistan spends the first six weeks of the tour within 100 miles of the European Epicentre of the Pandemic.

And from weeks 2 to 6 they will literally be in the eye of the storm, at the centre of it.

Younis is wearing the mask upside down. Wearing a KN95 mask upside down is like not wearing a mask at all.

It appears that no one among the PCB medical staff cares to point out to him or perhaps none of the medical staff actually know how to wear a KN95 mask the right way.

This is the professionalism of PCB. As I said before, PCB is the last cricket board in the world that you should be inviting during these times.

This is unbelievable and unforgivable stupidity. Perhaps it is time for Wasim Khan to throw Younis under the bus.

“We taught our players how to wear the masks properly but they didn’t listen”

    @Saj

Can you reach out to the team management and implore them to have mercy on Pakistan and at least learn to wear the masks properly?

Younis uploaded this on Instagram - how long before it catches the eye of an ECB medical staff and they end up teaching or players and our medical staff how to wear masks?

We continue to reach new, unprecedented heights of stupidity.

    Ok will do.

I'll tell a few of them to pass on the message.

I've sent pictures to them on how the mask should be worn.

Please don't listen to the fake doctor.

Younus Khan most likely took that selfie with an iPhone...and Everytime you take a selfie with an iPhone it takes a 'mirror image'

Android does not do this. Hence, the mask looks like it's on wrong. Even if you look at Younas Khan's hair in that picture and compare it with his previous or next Instagram post you will see that the selfie is indeed a mirror image.
