    India's missing women

UN report has just came out, stating that india has around 45.8million women missing.

I do not want this thread to turn into a pak v india debate based on typical useless statements.

I understand that india has been ranked last place with women are treated.

But having that many women missing is really disturbing - look thats more than the whole total sikh community in india.

Yet no politicians talk about this, are their any programmes available to find these women?

many recent articles on this matter :

Impossible to have such a programme. They were not even born and didn't grow up into women.

Absolute lies. The parents are not so heartless that they will kill the newborn or the foetus. They get it done by medicos. Although pre natal gender determination is illegal, the medicos do it because the state has no business dictating what happens in the womb. Some of them even kill the male foetus because they dont want to lose the business and tell the parents that it was a female child, so everyone goes home happy. This also offsets any gender imbalance due to exclusive female foeticide.

That 48 million is the cumulative for the last 50 years. As OP you should be telling us what the report is about.

when did i say india has 48million current women missing ?

im sorry if you thought that due to how i worded it, but i didnt mean that.

I do find it staggering that even in 50yrs its that high - as its nearly 1m a yr- and my city has 330k population

If you find any number staggering, just divide it by per capita. If it is still high, divide it by annual minutes (50 annual minutes in this case). Then you get the real metric of missing females per capita per minute.

dont need to, as thats not needed, i do like you your trying to divert away.

does india have a problem with women - metoo movement / this massive missing women case / burying female babies.
