I see your point, but still think it is tough asking top order batsmen to consistently be the 5th bowler every game, it leaves very little tactical leeway for the captain in case any bowler is having a bad day or they need to try something else.

England are not short of world class batting options, and sacrificing a bowling option to shoehorn Billings in because he's in good form is not sensible.

I dont get the hype for billings. Scoring consistently does'nt mean he is a must have in English team. Lol at another clueless statement from Mamoon. Babar is 5 times the batsman Billings is. Truth is billings cant bat outside the top 4 ( whenever he has scored he has come in early). So having him at no7 is a waste of spot. I would rather play liam dawson at 7

Lol. He is several leagues below Babar. Played pathetic innings in the first match showed no intention to win it similar innings of babar in Aus where he got the 100, But Billings one is full on praise. Today though he's played well. Let him perform outside his country even against us in the last t20 he cost them the game by scoring 26 off 24.

A team with Root and Stokes as the 5th bowling option will not be a World Cup winning side. England's weakness is already their bowling, they really do not need more batting depth.

These two batsmen looking to stabalize the innings here after early wickets , next 10 overs very crucial for both sides. Poms would be looking to break this partnership here , where as Aussies would look to consolidated further , and add 45 - 50 runs , risk free.

woakes is a genuine allrounder. Not like the gully players Faheem and Shadab.

This game tells everything about England's batting depth. Lost top two batsmen in first two balls, nothing from Morgan & Butler, and they are without Stokes - still posted 300+ on a reasonable wicket against the possible best attack Australia could field.

Aussies middle order fragility exposed again here , with this kind of mediocre middle order , Aussies will loose most games where they have to chase 270 plus totals.

If this Root bloke could bat he’d be an allrounder.

Aus need to bring back Handscomb and Khawaja. Maybe try Turner also.

But Handscomb or Khawaja must be slipped in the line up.

    74/5 after 17 overs.

Adil hasn't even bowled! Root is doing a fine job.
