Why pick Rashid Khan when you have enough good quality indian spinners?
You can easily replace Saini then who seems to be the only player not at world class level. I don’t know much about him but haven’t seen him make a mark at international level yet which makes me think he doesn’t have a pedigree right now.

My Base XI
Babar Azam
Jason Roy (int)
Haider Ali
Mohammad Hafeez
Moeen Ali (Int) (c)
Kamran Akmal (WK)
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Wahab Riaz
Sohail Tanvir
Mohammad Hasnain
My 3 extra players:
12. Tom Banton
13. Harris Rauf
14. Umer Khan
15. Ben Dunk (wk)
I could go with the extra bat and drop a seamer or Spinner. Banton in, Shadab out or Hasnain out:
Tom Banton (Int)
Jason Roy (int)
Babar Azam
Haider Ali
Mohammad Hafeez
Moeen Ali (Int) (c)
Kamran Akmal (WK)
Imad Wasim
12. Shadab Khan
Wahab Riaz
Sohail Tanvir
12. Mohammad Hasnain
In a 3 match series, I’m sure it could go 2-1 in favour of any IPL team or this PSL team with the final being played at 1-1
-
30th September 2020, 04:02 #10
By picking Banton and Roy, with Babar covering them at 3 and Hafeez also securing the side at 5...I’ve already nullified the threat of ANY international attack that the IPL will throw at this top 5, with Haider Ali being the only possible weak link. I’m expecting Banton and Roy to bravely take on Bumrah, Rabada and Boult. Or Bumrah, Shami, Rabada etc. I’m confident in my middle orders ability to handle the threat that will be posed by Chahal and possibly a left arm spinner like Axer Patel.
My main concern is that my bowling although very skilled and competent may not be able to take wickets up front, and will rely heavily on wickets to be taken outside power play overs.
I will look to win the Toss and bowl first every time, and back my side to chase down scores in the region of 180-210

Now if Tom Banton may not yet be up to the task of handling the world’s best attacks due to inexperience and not a lack of talent, then I would consider replacing him all together with Alex Hales, who with Jason Roy can set platforms of 10 overs 110 for no loss at ease against any attack.
This can be considered
-
30th September 2020, 04:13 #12
So I think my safest XI to take on any India side would be:
1. Jason Roy (int)
2. Alex Hales (int)
3. Babar Azam
4. Haider Ali
5. Mohammad Hafeez
6. Moeen Ali (c) (int)
7. Ben Dunk (wk) (int)
8. Imad Wasim
9. Wahab Riaz
10. Sohail Tanvir
11. Mohammad Hasnain
12. Shadab Khan
13. Tom Banton
14. Harris Rauf
15. Sohail Akhtar

It’ll be better contest if a 16 member top pick PSL squad joins IPL as 9th team - don’t see them making play-off - in fact after 16 games, finishing above 7th could be an achievement.
This year, I thought Delhi is very good team and Hyderabad, Bangalore weaker team - today Sunrise defended ~160 against Delhi and RCB has won two out of three, including one against Mumbai....

Jason Roy
Tom Banton (WK)
Babar Azam (C)
Haider Ali
Dawid Malan
Muhammad Hafeez
Mooen Ali
Zafar Gohar
Shaheen Afridi
Muhammad Amir / Wahab Riaz
Haris Rauf/ Muhammad Hasnain
This team can beat all of the IPL teams

We have plenty of top order batters and they have done well, not many lower order players though.
Rohit
Rahul
Agarwal
Dhawan
Gill
Shaw
Paddikal
Out of these, only two will find a place in the current best IPL XI.

Mods, can I know why my post got deleted ?
I just simply said there can be atleast 3 IPL 11s that can beat any other leagues' best 11s. What was so wrong with that?
Anyways, good luck fielding a team that can atleast fluke a win against ....
Rohit
Warner/Butler
Rahul
Smith
Kishan
Pandya
Rashid
Rabada
Bhuvi/Shami
Bumrah
Chahal

To be honest I actually thought IPL team would be unbeatable but looking at that side they not strong as you claim and are beatable for sure.
IPL has more international star players in their league so they have more in reserves and can choose from. But that team is not as strong as I first thought it would be. And can be beaten.

I'm surprised no one is putting in the PSL team Andre Russell one of the best T20 players and even Pollard has a good shout he has hammered IPL bowlers so could make it.

But Zimbabwe and Scotland don't have a better H2H by a big margin against them so that's a one off.
Pakistan have beaten India majority of the time. By some recent wins don't mean now if Pakistan win its a one off and fluke.
Very likely that IPL team you mentioned can be beaten.

IPL has larger talent pool and the best international players to pick from. PSL is a great league but currently not really a match for IPL. A more interesting comparison would be PSL vs BBL/CPL/BPL/T20 Blast. I'm sure PSL is easily winning all of the other contests.

Plenty of options at top order for Indian players. IPL will win. It will beat a lot of international T20 teams as well.Last edited by Ab Fan; 30th September 2020 at 14:53.

All you need is Jason Roy to fire alongside Alex Hales/Babar Azam/ Tom Banton or any top order player and it will be enough to deal with any attack the IPL throws at you.
It’s not necessarily a battle of the star weight of each team, rather it is more of a tactical war in which you need to smartly use your juggernauts to deal with the quality of the international bowlers that the IPL will throw at you.
As I said, the way to go is to bat second and bowl to a plan in which you will back yourself to chase 9-10 an over.
