Misbah might have been recommended by Imran but the final decision was in the hands of Wasim and Mani.

Recommended or ordered is different to say. Will IK digest them refusing to appoint Misbah?

Unless tried , everyone can only predict Misbah with his negative mindset will not succeed.

The dual role is a very attractive offer. Every coach wants control on selection of players. Someone like Mickey would have loved to have the authority to select the squad instead of Inzamam.

Then they called Walsh in the middle of night and rejected his application after he didn’t pick up his phone. Even Apple or Microsoft will not act like that.

Wasim talked a lot about professionalism and merit but there was nothing professional or meritocratic about this whole process.
I have to agree, if we have have to rank the various gaffes of this regime, hiring Misbah through this farce of a process would rank right at the very top. They have proved themselves to be very shortsighted. An alternative approach would have been to ask Misbah to coach a regional side or offer him an assistant coach role so he could learn. This would have meant there would have been a proper succession plan and they would have achieved better results.

Pakistan already in shell. If you bat like this , that opens the door for the opposition to make in roads.

5 overs and no run yet. Complete Misbahic mindset on display.

Looks like the orders came from another Niazi who had something similar going from him as a captain

Why resign, surely a home test series against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe can’t be far away - an ideal opportunity to silence all critics and start a new “rebuilding” phase

Yeah and so should India have sacked Shastri and Kohli after a bad NZ tour? Too reactionary and knee jerk. The test team is improving need to stick with it. This is a difficult tour regardless of the quality of players never mind some of the lalloos we are carrying/

How are we improving exactly? We are going backwards. Only improvement I have seen on this tour is Faheem. Rizwan has also shown more good work following good tours of Australia and England although unfortunately he has left a sour taste after his 2 dropped catches. You just have to hope this isn't a case of him following the same route Kamran Akmal took - regarded amongst the finest keeper batsmen in the world and after England tour 2006 all he became known for was being the worst keeper around.

As for Misbah - it's not even a case of him resigning. He has to be removed as simple as that as does Waqar.

For those people think Misbah and Waqar will either resign or get sacked living in lala land. Soon there will be few matches against BD and Zim. If we win those series (don't think we can whitewash them either) their contract will be extended for another 2-3 years.

The reason he hasn’t been sacked is because PCB doesn’t have a clue where to go if he is sacked. Wasim Khan talks a lot about professionalism but the way Misbah was appointed was the opposite of that.

Wasim Khan needs to explain why Misbah was appointed and why he kept his coaching role and removed as CS. The duo role to me is exciting. But you obviously need the right person for that. Misbah is not a good coach and wasn’t a fit for a CS role.

After Misbah took charge Warner 335* , Crawly 267 and Williamson 238.

Thanks Misbah "defensice mindset" to take Pakistan into minnow status.

He is such a shamless guy that was in cricket committee and ousted Mickey Arthur and recommended himself for both Chief selector and coach and maybe Chairman.

Misbah must have inspired with his talks and deceived them with his calmness.. Wasim khan, Mani and Imran Khan fell into the trap and forgot to realise he has zero experience in both roles loll.

I truly wonder what he did to get the job. It cannot be for coaching reasons as he had no experience.

Both needs to be booted out of the coaching setup... I would let Younis Khan be the head coach for the SA home series and get one of the NCA bowling coaches as a standby or as short term until they figure out the replacements...

Not just you, everyone wants to know the credibility behind appointing Misbah in such a way where he headed the committee and booted Mickey Arthur and then took the job himself... Zero professionalism

    100%

This win doesn't absolve him of anything. We're still totally directionless and just like his batting and captaincy, Misbah has no plans for the future on how to build this team.
