Best performances ever to draw a Test match

This is my list of best performances ever in test cricket in drawn test matches .I have considered strength of opposition and circumstances faced.

1.Pakistan at Georgetown in 1977-Saved a game after being 250 runs in the arrears .Zaheer and Majid were at their glorious best sharing a 159 run partnership for the 2nd wicket.Above all facing top Calypso pace attack.I doubt any other team would have saved a game in such circumstances against such a team of world beaters.

2.Pakistan at Chandigarh at Mohali in 2005-Pakistan looked as though it was down and out till Kamran Akmal pulled off a virtual Houdini act to resurrect Pakistan from dire straits.A war of attrition at a crescendo with Pakistan displaying nerves of steel.Repairing job done to perfection like a surgeon operating on a patient.

3.India at the Oval in 1979-Chasing a record target of 438 runs India came within touching distance of a famous win with Gavaskar scoring 221.Bad umpiring robbed India of famous victory after they were coasting home at 366-2 with 12 overs remaining..One of test cricket's all-time great fightbacks.

4.South Africa in Adelaide in 2nd test of 2012 series in Australia-The likes of Duplesis Kallis resurrected the Proteas who were on the verge of imminent defeat.Relentlesness of a boulder weathering a storm.

5.India at Sydney in 2020-21-Considering the injuries India was beset with it earned glory as few teams ever did.Instead of crashing to defeat India launched a magnificient counter rearguard action which ressurected it from the depths of despair to be on the verge of a possible victory.Tenacity of sublime proportions.Pant gave an exhilarating exhibition of stroke play while Ashwin and Vihara resembled soldiers displaying grit at its ultimate height.

6.New Zealand in 1st test at Wellington v England in 1984-A magnificient counter attacking rearguard action retreived the Kiwis who were on the verge of sinking with a 127 run partnership between Jeremy Coney ad Lance Cairns.New Zealand ended their 2nd innings ta score of 529 after being precariously placed at 42-8 after being 200 runs behind in the 1st innings.

7.Australia at Trinidad in 1984-Heroic batting of Alan Border almost miraculously ressurected Australia from the grave to save the game.Rarely seen tenacity at such a depth against possibly the best test side ever.

8.Pakistan at Adelaide in 1976-77-After trailing behind by a huge margin Pakistan gloriously rose like a phoenix from the Ashes to score over 450 in the 2nd innnings with Asif Iqbal and Iqbal Qasim involved in a record 10th wicket stand of 79 runs.Chasing 285 Australia were given the jitters in the 2nd innings losing 6 wickets for 261 runs.

9.Pakistan in 2nd test at Adelaide in 1989-90-Imran and Wasim both scored centuries to ressurect Pakstan from the grave to come within touching distance of a famous victory.Had Pakistan won it would have been close to test cricket's most glorious victory ever.Amongst the best ever 6th wicket partnerships or revivals ever in a 2nd innings of a test match.

10.Pakistan at Bridgetown in 1977-A famous 133 run last wicket partnership between Wasim Raja and Wasim Bari ressurected Pakistan from dire straits after being 158-9 in the 2nd innings.Bad Umpiring cost Pakistan a famous win in the 2nd innings when the Calypsos were tottering at 217-8 and 254-9.

11.India at Trinidad in 1983-Amrnath at his brilliant best supported by Kapil revived India who were 219 run sin the arrears .

12.India at Lords in 1979-A glorious 210 3rd wickets and saved India who were on the verge of facing a humiliating defeat. In overcast conditions batting at its best like 2 surgeons performing an operation jointly.India were 323 runs in the arrears i the 1st innings.

India's recent draw is one of the best rearguard efforts, right up there with Pakistan's draw at Port of Spain in 1988.

@Harsh Thakor you should make a thread on best comebacks by a team after suffering humiliation in their previous test.

I think Napier Test, 2008 has to be up there. That was an excellent match saving performance from Indian middle order, leading the way to a test series win in NZ after over 40 years.

England vs NZ 2013, 3rd test. Series on the line, england 4 or 5 down at 4th day's end.
Prior hit a century and broad did a blockathon. eng were 9 down.

WI vs India 2006, WI 9 down and were able to survive 7 or 8 overs by the end.

Pak vs SL 2006 in SL. Shoaib Malik 148* against Murali and co.

SL vs Eng 2006 in England Kulasekara scored a century to salvage a draw against a very strong eng
    lineup.

Sl vs Eng 2014, SL managed to draw the test 9 wickets down. In the very next test, England were in the similar situation but Anderson got out in the last over.
