Asif probably has senior powers in Misbah's eyes.
I don't know why anyone is surprised.
Misbah will always priorities seniority, I'm pretty sure he has more or less admitted that in the past (he calls it experience but we know what he is talking about)

Hope these guys hang their heads in shame. Playing a street level batsman in an international team over the most promising young batsman in the country
Hard to get a handle on this double edged sword

Forget Haider Ali, even Hasan Ali is much better batsman than Asif Ali..
Just like Misbah and Waqar,,, Asif has some really serious connections

Having a feeling Asif will get the nod again for the 3rd ODI. Imo, Haider needs to play at 5 and work from there and if he can develop consistency and runs, then he'll slowly make his way up the order and cement a top order slot by WC 2023.

This is what Misbah is known for. He is known for to select his friends and other players from Islamabad united, as he has some affiliation with them i feel. During his captaincy (and coaching days), he selected a garbage combination in first 2 games of a bilateral series, only for him to select a winning combination in the third one. For example, this happened in NZ where in first 2 T20s, Misbah selected an unchanged team, a losing combination. In the third one, he selected a winning combination that all the fans and critics were suggesting, and Pakistan won.
Seems like Misbah didn't learn the lesson and yet again selected the losing and unchanged combination (just look at the middle order). Expect this incompetence from Misbah.

Very convenient. Shadab is out because of toe, Haider is in because of tooth. What next? Asif out because of wrong haircut?
Haider Ali has been suffering from toothache. However the pain has eased and he is available for selection for the 3rd ODI against South Africa #SAvPAK #Cricket

I’m just bidding my time till World Cup twenty20 happens. Its gonna take a bad beating from that to make our higher ups realize Misbah and Waqar combo was a mistake.

Not a single batsman apart from the top 3 had a good series, yet Haider can’t even get one game. Appalling team selection.

The management need a reminder of what a middle order batsmen means.
To note, it does not mean specialist wicket keepers or bowlers in this position.

Haider Ali is an Opener. He opened for Pak U-19 Team in 2020 U-19 WC. Why people want him to bat at 5/6.
We have already destroyed a top-order player "Umar Akmal" by making him bat at 6 in ODIs.
Haider can bat @4 in T20Is just like Baristow bats @4 in T20I & open in ODIs.

I hope Asif does not play in T20s.There are plenty of options available so there is no need to play Asif.

Our evaluation of players in Pakistan is very poor. We have no idea what Asif Ali is good at it and what he isn't. I would say the same thing about Haider.
