Pakistan [320/7] defeat South Africa [292] by 28 runs in the 3rd ODI to win the series 2-1

Pakistan reached a score of 320/7 in the series-deciding ODI. South Africa will require 321 runs to win, at a rate of 6.42 runs per over. Can Pakistan defend this total and clinch the ODI series?

Really should’ve got something bigger, big mistake playing 2 keepers and I would’ve personally played Muhammad Wasim Jr in place of Qadir but let’s see. InshAllah the showers stay away.

30 runs short on this wicket. SA’s batting line-up is decent at best, so we might get away with it. However, the middle-order is rubbish to say the least.

the middle phase is when babar should have accelerated but if your losing 51/5 then as a captain you need to rethink your strategy and act as the anchor to see out the innings as the wickets around you crumble. Pak fans need to realize we are not top 3 odi team, i don't know what kind of expectations some people have but they need to bring them down a notch or 2

They're missing more than half their side from the Wanderers. You can call a Smith and Warner less Australia a C team but not this one ? Lol okay.

South Africa batting seems stronger than their bowling. JP Malan and Kyle Verreynne are highly rated. Klassen averages 40ish and Markham just needs a big score to get going in ODIs.

He is one of the key players for Pak without a doubt. Stats since his debut can be seen. He was the 2nd highest wicket taker in ODI cricket from 2015 WC leading upto the WC19 (He debuted in 2016).

He was absolutely dreadful in that 2018-19 period and got dropped in the midst of the world cup for Shaheen if I remember correctly.

He won't have comeback into the side had amir not retired.

Looks clear for the rest of the game now. Hopefully it's correct.

On a separate note as an Indian fan it is such an unmitigated pleasure to see games where they don't cut to a hundred advertisements just after the 6th ball is bowled. I've forgotten a time when that used to happen in our games also.

Malan needs to be in the test team. He looks like he has that ability to go big when set.

No margin for error for bowlers on this belter.

And my fears about Hasan Ali being a much better bowler on low bounce than high bounce wickets being realised.

This is where a positive start can get you. Now SA can take things easy in the middle overs.
