ICC Men's T20 World Cup: India vs Pakistan tickets for group stage match sold out
Tickets for this match all sold out within one hour.
Heard that they will open some more seats but I am sure those ones will be equally hard to get.
Looks like this match will live up to its hype.
want tickets to the finals. Be ready to shell out more than 500 to 100 GBP. The Ind-Pak match itself has double the price of a regular ticket.
1 USD = 3.68 AED

Seats in all sections, including General, General East, Premium, Pavilion East and Platinum, have become unavailable on the Platinumlist website
Tickets for the India-Pakistan game at the ICC T20 World Cup (October 17-November 14) sold out hours after they went on sale on Sunday.
The highly-anticipated game between the two great rivals will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24.
Seats in all sections of the state-of-the-art Dubai cricket stadium, including General, General East, Premium, Pavilion East and Platinum, have become unavailable on the Platinumlist website, where tickets for the T20 World Cup are being sold.
As soon as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the tickets were on sale, thousands of fans flocked to the website to book their seats. Many were placed in an online queue with tens of thousands of users ahead of them. The estimated wait time was more than an hour.
Gopal Jasapara, head coach of Dubai’s G Force Cricket Academy, also failed to book tickets for the big clash.
“I went to the website immediately after tickets went on sale. I was on the waiting list for a long time and thought I had a chance. But I was wrong,” Jasapara lamented.
On Sunday night, Premium and Platinum tickets were available for Dh1,500 and Dh2,600, respectively, for groups of two. But as of Monday morning, both have become unavailable on Platinumlist.
Several users took to social media on Monday to ask if people were willing to sell their tickets.
Even Jasapara’s WhatsApp has been flooded with messages from people desperate to get their hands on a ticket.
“Since I have been involved with local cricket in UAE, a lot of people have sent me messages for India-Pakistan match tickets. But I have no special access. I am just as helpless as them,” Jasapara said.
The T20 World kicks off in Muscat on October 17 and will conclude in UAE on November 14.
All UAE venues will be operating at approximately 70 per cent of the capacity in the World Cup, the ICC said on Sunday.
The 16-team showpiece event in T20 international cricket will get underway when Oman lock horn with Papua New Guinea in Muscat on October 17.
Eight teams (Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands and Sri Lanka in Group A and Bangladesh, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Scotland in Group B) will compete in Round 1 to join India, Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies in the Super 12 stage.
While Oman will host six of the 12 Round 1 matches, all Super 12 games as well as the semifinals and the final will be staged in UAE.
Dubai will host the final on November 14.

Indians in UAE, UK, Australia, NZ etc will buy tickets even they are 10× the regular price and even if we are playing UAE or Namibia or Hong Kong.
Please go check out the crowds in Auckland and Hamilton when India played the likes of Zimbabwe and Ireland in the 2015 world Cup.

Crazy Indians fans. some of them are buying tickets at prices equal to their months salary.
All my UAE Whatsapp groups are getting flooded with requests to sell tickets.

ICC milks a lot of money from this match. If India-Pakistan played regular cricket, this game wont be so hyped up. So I think ICC is happy in a way we dont play bilateral cricket.
If Pakistan pulls out from this game as a protest, it can actually hurt ICC a lot. Think Pakistan can bring some of its bargaining chips here.

Just seems a bit odd to me! Pakistan is apparently so beneath contempt for India that it isn't even thought about or cared about yet here we have it - a T20 group game against Pakistan priced at DOUBLE the other games in the same tournament and it sells out within seconds.
To be honest I can't think of anything more boring than trawling through YouTube to find India v Ireland from 2015 world cup but the impression I have had is that for Indians playing us is probably the equivalent of playing Ireland - in terms of the feeling the game generates. So it is surprising to me to see it sell out so quickly, that is all.

Yes, I quoted Mesozoic's post so I read it.
My point is that I am surprised the demand for this game is so high amongst Indians. Why has it sold out so quickly and before any other game even though the price was double? It is very surprising for me, especially since Indians do not consider it to be a worthy match or an important game at all.

When we get pumped, we can say that we were playing our B team…no big deal🥳
Azam Khan
Asif Ali
Khushdil Shah
Sohaib Maqsood
Hasnain etc…
No Amir, Malik, Wahab, Sharjeel, Fakhar, Umar Akmal.

If Pakistan gets rid of the sacks of potatoes we carry along (Khushdil, Azam, Hasnain, Asif, etc.) and select credible performers, this can be a very entertaining game.

Expecting one sided encounter ; again hype created in media
Yes, if 50% of 1.5 billion people (both Pakistan and India) are going to watch this, then its easy to get 5000 people to buy tickets in UAE
mark this post
Pakistan team will lose within 16 overs to give another embarrassment for us; or it will be total one sided game with 1/2 performances from our side to make the match interesting for few overs

Very cheeky for the ICC to charge double for one game in the schedule.
Part of me would love Pakistan to pull out in the last minute citing a security concern (the details of which of course they are not able to share with anyone else)

ICC always makes these exaggerated claims before any India vs Pakistan game
Remember 2015 WC game India vs Pakistan at Adelaide. ICC claimed tickets wer sold out months before the game. In reality on match day they had attendance of 41,000 out of capacity of 56,000. !
Also during 2018 Asia Cup , the India vs Pakistan games in Dubai had about half capacity filled
So this is basically ICC and Emirates board doing some PR before the T20 World Cup ( nothing wrong in it )
There is general cricket fatigue right now in India. Even IPL has lower ratings than expected. Indians are still swooning on Neeraj Chopra and other Olympic heroes

Will be another one-sided boring match. Only delusional fans can think we have any chance against India. The hype actually cause to sell all those tickets.

On the day of the match the Adelaide hotels had ran out of food, beer and whisky by 10 PM in the night.
I was there, no place was serving anything as they had sold out every last piece of food, all supermarkets eatables were gone. The local shopkeepers were the happiest on that day. One Bar owner told me he has made money worth 2 years in one night, and all his stock of old Wine/Whisky bottles was gone and he has to restock.
We went 90KMs outside Adelaide to get some food that night, a travel of 1.5 hours as was really, really hungry.

Time for Pakistan to hit back at ICC=BCCI=India and forfeit the match and teach a lesson to evil BCCI. Put your money where your mouth is.

I am clear that importance of India Pakistan has nothing to do with being worthy or not. Such is the history between these countries that every match will be hyped up.
It is important for everyone including ICC, PCB & BCCI, Host nation, Media, Players and Fans and anyone who benefits and why not? These matches are the best cricket adrenalin pumping.
lol, the fans may feign disinterest but we all know that on the match day you will find your heart beat racing. Don't we?Last edited by OMB; 5th October 2021 at 11:08.

Thats bcoz Adelaide is not equipped to host so many tourists from outside. Ideally the march should have been hosted in Sydney or Melbourne. Adelaide is a sleepy city , not exactly a big tourist center
But the stadium itself was not full. The official attendance was flashed on the giant scoreboard at 41,000.

This was basically what I was getting at.
The impression I get from many Indians (and some of their lackey Pakistanis have bought into this too) is that the feeling that India v Pakistan generates is the same as India v Ireland - ie it is really a nothing game for them, it is not a rivalry etc. Even the Indians is this thread have not responded by saying 'Actually we do still have feeling for India v Pakistan' - you'll read their responses and you'll see them still trying to pretend like it's no big deal for them.
So I was having some fun by pointing out how quickly this game sold out with double the ticket prices and what that implies :-)

Amazing that on this thread the narrative buildup is Indians treat this as against ire/zim/nothing match/it does not matter. As if the result is a given. I know heaps of Indians who'd be looking forward not only to this game but also against the others in our group - the NZ match for instance - there's plenty of pepper and masala to go around for that one you'd reckon.
India Afg wold be closely followed, if Afg want their cricketers to be displayed on the big stage, here's their chance and also in 20-20 i guess afg are at their strongest, and also did'nt they run us close last 2-3 matches including 2019 wc 50 overs match?
Sorry, but all this indians dont think the pak match is important enough or something below is pathetic false indictment and not one shared by a lot of rational indians, so stop the excuses or the whinging irrespective of what happens in the match.
Secondly, come the match itself, i guess pak would be raring to go, the recent events would be a catalyst to just go hard at India.
On the other hand, hope our IPL stars would have emerged from their media hype/photo/adv shoots and would be hopefully relaxed and in the correct frame of mind for this match.
Will be exciting.

I think what Indian fans are trying to say is India vs Pakistan hype is no longer what it used to be in 90s or 2000s
Of course many people in India will follow the game but overall interest is slightly on the downside. Of course the stupid media channels will try to create a hyped up war like narrative as if its World War 3 but general population has moved on from such extreme rhetoric
If we win its good. If we lose , we will troll Kohli for a few days and then move on
ps: 24th Oct is Karwa Chauth for Hindus / Sikhs. Half of India will be fasting that day & taking part in religious festivities in the evening while the match is on !
