Nothing more than fans trying to hype up the encounter.

If the match is canceled, then it will be good for Pakistan to get some points from the fixture.

    Link shows nothing.

    But great topic.

Can anyone explain why India or Indians don't want to play cricket with Pakistan? Or why they want Pakistan cricket banned?

Indians first excuse was the Bombay attacks of 2008. Yet years later they invited Pakistan to tour for ODIs.

India seems like a bitter nation, always crying over Pakistan. They should grow some courage and stop mixing politics with sport.

The demand for cancellation of India vs Pakistan match in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup is increasing amid recent terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, where several civilians lost their lives.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh recently said that the match between India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 should not be played under the current circumstances. Also, the Cabinet Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department added that the issue should be discussed again.

Speaking to the media after offering his condolences on the demise of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s mother in Rajasthan, Giriraj Singh said, “The match between India and Pakistan in the coming days needs to be given another thought in the wake of the attacks happening on Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. The relations are not good right now.”

Meanwhile, Team India skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday played down the ‘hype’ surrounding the high-voltage India vs Pakistan match as “another game of cricket” for him.

"I honestly never felt so," Kohli said when asked if it feels different whenever India meets its neighbouring country.

"I have just approached this game as another game of cricket and I know there is a lot of hype around this game, more so with ticket sales and demands of tickets," the Indian captain, who has had some great performances against Pakistan added.

Notably, India and Pakistan are scheduled to clash in the most-anticipated contest of the showpiece event on October 24.

Pakistan has a dismal record against India in ICC tournaments with the men in green only winning 3 out of the 17 matches, and all three victories came in Champions Trophy matches.

This is noteworthy that the last time Pakistan beat India was in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final.

By all means India can refuse to play holding Pak responsible for the battering they are taking in IoK. As India will be the ones who cancel the match they will lose the points. There is no way India can have the match cancelled yet be awarded the points. ICC will tell India to either lose the points or play the match.

Have to remind the chest beating Indian's that the ICC are not a political but Sports organisation. Such a scenario seems to have occurred before when the ICC told India exactly this then India played the match Not Pak's fault that the Kashmiris are thumping India, farmers protests, Assam, Uttarakhand and Chinese hammering them too.

India and it's people are a bunch of cry babies. As likely when the match is played those against it will be glued to their TV. You know how it is in that hellhole with a thousand people crouched around one little TV! It is India being frustrated at what is happening in IoK! Too bad they can't threaten China with Bollywood or Cricket

New Delhi: Amid a surge in civilian killings in Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad on Monday said that the upcoming cricket match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup should be halted.

“I think such things (India vs Pak match in upcoming ICC T20 World Cup) should be halted...so that Pakistan get a message that if they keep supporting terrorism, India will not stand by them on any matter,” Prasad said.

The remarks came in the wake of a sudden rise in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, where a series of targeted killings have left 11 civilians dead this month.

Besides, Bihar deputy CM, Union minister Giriraj Singh also said the match to be held in Dubai on October 24 should be reconsidered as the ties between both countries are “not good”.

"I think if relations (between India and Pakistan) are not good then this should be reconsidered," Singh told reporters here when asked if the match should be held amid civilian killings in J&K.

Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a spurt in incidents targeted killings of civilians especially non-locals over the past few days.

On Sunday, two non-resident labourers from Bihar were gunned down and one was criticall injured by terrorists in Kulgam district in South Kashmir.

The incident took place a day after a golgappa vendor from Bihar and a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur were shot dead by terrorists in the Valley.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had on Sunday said that he would avenge every drop of “innocent civilians’ blood” by hunting down terrorists and their sympathisers.

He also said attempts are being made to disrupt the peace and socio-economic progress of Jammu and Kashmir and the individual growth of people.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Monday said India will have to play arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup as no team can refuse to play another side in a tournament organised by International Cricket Council (ICC).

There were talks that the BCCI and the government should reconsider playing Pakistan in the ICC men's T20 World Cup as in the past few days, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a spate of targeted killings of civilians especially non-locals. Shukla said while strict action should be taken against terror organisations, the match against Pakistan has to be played as it is an ICC tournament.

"We strongly condemn killings in (Jammu and Kashmir). Strict action should be taken against terror organisations. As far as the match (T20 WC IND vs PAK) is concerned, under ICC's international commitments you can't refuse to play against anyone. You've to play with teams in ICC tournaments," Rajeev Shukla who is also the Congress leader told ANI.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited high-octane clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup will take place on October 24 in Dubai.

In Group 2, India will then face New Zealand and Afghanistan, the emerging force in T20 cricket, plus the winners of Group B and runners-up from Group A.

I am happy if the Indian team refuses to leave the dressing room on the basis they can't play due to political reasons. I guarantee that Pak will take all the points and the killing of Indian soldiers in IoK will continue as well. It will be a lose-lose situation for India.

Irrespective of the result after the match sparks will fly in IoK.

Bihar Min Hussain Says India Shouldn't Play Cricket Vs Pak Unless It Stops 'Holi Of Blood'

Bihar Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad too echoed the demand for the cancellation of the T20 match vs Pakistan, saying that it was necessary to send them a message.

Amid rising cases of attacks on migrant labourers in J&K, Bihar Minister Shahnawaz Hussain weighed in on the scheduled India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match saying that no cricket should be played with Pakistan unless it stops the 'holi of blood'.

Speaking to Republic TV, the Bihar Minister said that India holding talks or playing bilateral matches with Pakistan was out of the question.

He told Republic TV, "It is not a bilateral match, nor is it talks. In World Cup or Olympics, matches are held and such matches are being played. We never play bilateral series with them, and even other countries cancel matches held in Pakistan. We will never play with them in hockey or cricket, but in Olympics and World Cup, we play."

"The Indian Government will take the call, but when it comes to bilateral series, the match will never be held. Talks are not being held, matches are also not being played, there is no relationship between us. We will expose them in the world. Till Pakistan plays Holi of blood, no match should be played with it," he added.

Bihar Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad also echoed the demand for the cancellation of the T20 match vs Pakistan, saying that it was necessary to send the Imran Khan-led nation a message.

He told ANI, "I think such things (India vs Pak match) should be halted so that Pakistan get a message that if they keep supporting terrorism, India will not stand by them on any matter."

BCCI VP bats for India-Pak match
Meanwhile, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla backed the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match, telling reporters on Monday that 'commitments' had been made, which could not be backed out of.

"I strongly condemn these killings, strict action needs to be taken against these terrorist organisations. As far as the match is concerned, you know that commitments are made under the ICC. Under these, we can not refuse to play. In ICC tournaments, you have to play," Rajeev Shukla said.

In the past two weeks, 11 civilians have been killed by various Pakistan-backed terror outfits. There has been a strong demand from several Indians and families of the terror victims that India call off the T20 World Cup game against Pakistan.

Several leaders and activists from Union Minister Giriraj Singh to filmmaker Ashoke Pandit have echoed the demand and have said that playing cricket with Pakistan on the backdrop of the civilian deaths in J&K and martyrdom of 9 soldiers in Poonch was an insult to all those who had laid down their lives to Pakistan's terror elements.

'Hurt Pakistan By Thrashing Them On Field': Farokh Engineer Wants T20 WC Match To Go On

Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer believes the India vs Pakistan fixture must go ahead despite the terrorism spread by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer believes the India vs Pakistan fixture must go ahead despite the terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the best way to teach Pakistan a lesson in this regard was to demolish its team on the pitch. The debate has arisen because targeted killings are on a surge in J&K by the Pakistan-backed terrorists.

Hence, several are of the view that India should call off their T20 World Cup encounter against Pakistan to protest the civilian killings in the valley. The BCCI, however, has stated that this is not likely as the match entails a 'commitments'.

While speaking to Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on The Debate, Farokh Engineer said that India must take revenge for the civilian killings against Pakistan by 'thrashing' them in the T20 World Cup. His comments came after Arnab told him that the best way to hurt Pakistan and their cricket board, PCB, is by not playing them in the T20 World Cup. Arnab said that 'PCB is finished' if India does not agree to play Pakistan, thereby achieving a major strategic objective for India.

In response, Farokh said, "As Arnab has rightly said, hit them where it hurts. I could not agree more. I have never been a sympathiser of Pakistan. I will never be one. But this fixture has not been arranged by the BCCI nor is this match on Indian territory. This is a World Cup arranged by the ICC, and every country associated with the ICC is obliged to play. Let's hurt them as Arnab says. Let us play them and thrash them. And teach them a lesson."

He ended his point by stating that if India were to forfeit the game, it would be in Pakistan's favour as they would get the points and qualify. In response, Arnab told him that India must boycott the match against Pakistan as 50% of PCB's funding comes from the ICC, and 50% of ICC's revenue are generated from India. Arnab ended his reply by strongly stating that it's fine if India forfeits the match and loses the T20 World Cup, but they should not lose their national interests.

Rajeev Shukla insists IND vs PAK match must take place as planned

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla told reporters on Monday that India must play Pakistan as 'commitments' had been made to play the match. According to ANI, the BCCI vice president said, "I strongly condemn these killings, strict action needs to be taken against these terrorist organisations. As far as the match is concerned, you know that commitments are made under the ICC. Under these, we can not refuse to play. In ICC tournaments, you have to play."

Targeting the BJP government, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and MLA Atishi said Tuesday that she wanted to know the Prime Minister’s stand on cricket matches being played between India and Pakistan at a time when there have been “state-sponsored attacks for Pakistan on Indian soil”.

She was responding to a question regarding the two teams facing each other, during a press conference. An India-Pakistan match has been scheduled on October 24 as part of the T20 World Cup in UAE.

Eleven civilians have been killed in attacks in Jammu and Kashmir this month, including a businessman, two teachers and several migrants.

“Over the past few days, we have been witnessing repeated attacks on citizens of India. I am sure even the PM will agree with the stand that cricket matches against Pakistan should not be played. When he was in the Opposition, he used to ask the ruling party why matches were being played when state-sponsored terrorism was being perpetuated by Pakistan in India,” she said.

She said she was sure other BJP leaders would also agree that the match should not happen. “Not just the PM, I am sure other BJP leaders will also agree that matches should not happen. We have seen the attacks on the Indian soil increasing, and can’t just sit and watch. I am interested in knowing the PM’s stand. Is it ok to play matches when there are attacks on Indian soil?” she asked.

Situation in Kashmir going out of hand: Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said the situation in Jammu and Kashmir was getting out of hand with the surge in civilian killings and demanded a clarification from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the matter.

Mr. Raut said the Centre’s mere deployment of threatening rhetoric or surgical strikes against Pakistan would not resolve the tangled situation in Kashmir.

“It is high time the Centre spoke on what was happening in Kashmir rather than giving us a load of hot air on whether or not India should play cricket with Pakistan … Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh [RSS chief] Mohan Bhagwat [in his Dasara speech last week] has spoken a burning truth that even despite the scuppering of Article 370, there has been no improvement in the situation in Kashmir…terrorists storm homes and schools with impunity and fire at will in public spaces. This situation will not stop by issuing mere threats to Pakistan,” the Sena leader said.

Noting that at least 17 people had been killed by terrorists in the last 10 days or so in the Valley, Mr. Raut warned that the Centre would have to bear responsibility for failing to prevent the spiral of violence in Kashmir.

“Sometimes Sikhs are targeted, sometimes Kashmiri Pandits are killed… recently, two labourers from Bihar were killed… conducting surgical strikes against Pakistan will not resolve anything. Talking about such strikes, why does the Centre not conduct the same against China which has entered Ladakh?” he said, demanding that the Home Minister and the Defence Minister come clean with what was actually going on in Kashmir.

The Sena MP said that for all the Centre’s claims about the situation being under control in the Valley since the scrapping of Article 370, one never knew what exactly had been the scene there owing to the press clampdown and suspension of Internet services.

“Moreover, there were severe restrictions on people’s movements while Kashmiri leaders were in detention… Hence, many things never came out. While the removal of Article 370 was a positive step and the Sena had supported the Centre at the time, we want to know what is the Centre doing now to control the violence which seems to be getting out of hand,” Mr. Raut said.

He further said that the Centre could not shift the blame for its failures on the opposition parties.

Taking potshots at the BJP regime, Mr. Raut remarked that instead of harassing the tripartite Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of the Sena, the NCP and the Congress by unleashing the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Income Tax on the MVA leadership, the Centre would do well to put these agencies to good use in Jammu and Kashmir.

“I exhort all my colleagues in the MVA to not merely sit on their chairs but offer fitting ripostes to every allegation made by the BJP leaders in the State and the Centre,” Mr. Raut said.

    Slams Fadnavis
In an editorial in the party’s mouthpiece Saamana (where Mr. Raut is executive editor) on Monday, the Sena had chastised former Chief Minister and BJP Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis for daring to question how Uddhav Thackeray became Chief Minister.

The editorial said that Mr. Thackeray had taken the Chief Minister’s oath “in full public view” unlike Mr. Fadnavis’ secretive, early-morning oath taking ceremony as Chief Minister (along with NCP leader Ajit Pawar) for a very brief while soon after the 2019 Assembly election result.

India badminton legend Prakash Padukone on Tuesday said that sports and politics should not be mixed with each other, and the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan should proceed as planned.

India and Pakistan are slated to lock horns against each other in the World Cup on October 24 in Dubai. "According to me, the match between India and Pakistan should go on. Sports and politics should not be mixed together," Padukone told ANI.

Earlier on Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party had demanded that the Indian cricket team should opt-out of its match against Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai.

During a press conference, Atishi, AAP MLA from Kalkaji said, "We see people being attacked in Kashmir. I'm sure that even the Prime Minister agrees with the stand of not conducting the match (IND v PAK) as when in Opposition he used to question that when state-sponsored terrorism is taking place in India why should we play cricket with them?"

She further said, "So, I am sure that not only AAP but even BJP and its leadership along with the PM will agree that unless such attacks in India and targeted attacks on Indians stop, it will not be right to play matches like this."

People have been asking that the BCCI and the government should reconsider playing Pakistan in the ICC men's T20 World Cup as in the past few days, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a spate of targeted killings of civilians especially non-locals.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Monday said India will have to play arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup as no team can refuse to play another side in a tournament organised by International Cricket Council (ICC).

So one Indian wants to cancel the match where as another wants to win on the pitch! He feels that by winning it will compensate for their dead soldiers! So to one Farooque Engineer that is all his soldiers lives are worth, a silly Cricket match!!Makes up your minds before you speak. All I care about is Pak take all the points by playing or the match being cancelled.

New Delhi: Amid a slew of selective killing of minorities in Jammu and Kashmir, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday (October 19, 2021) slammed the Centre and said that even as soldiers have died in the union territory in encounters with terrorists and civilians have been killed, India is set to play a T20 World Cup match with Pakistan.

He also said that Pakistan is playing T20 in Kashmir every day with the lives of the people of India.

Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, Owaisi said, "Nine of our soldiers died in J-K, and India will be playing T20 match with Pakistan on October 24?".

"Our soldiers have died. Will you play T20? Pakistan is playing T20 in Kashmir every day with the lives of the people of India," Owaisi said.

His remarks come ahead of a clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup on October 24 in Dubai.

Owaisi further put the blame on the BJP-led Central government for the series of targeted civilian killings in the Kashmir Valley.

"Poor workers of Bihar are being killed, targeted killing is being done, what is the Intelligence Bureau and (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah doing? This is a failure of the Centre," he said.

This is to be noted that a street hawker from Bihar and a labourer from Uttar Pradesh were killed in two back-to-back attacks by terrorists in the Srinagar and Pulwama districts on Saturday.

Over the past few days, several troops of the Indian security forces and civilians have been killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Owaisi also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he never speaks on two things -- rise in petrol and diesel prices and China sitting in India's territory in Ladakh.

"PM is afraid of speaking on China," he said.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader NV Subash has slammed Asaduddin over his remarks on India-Pakistan cricket match and stated that AIMIM was founded on negative ideology.

Subash told ANI, "AIMIM party represented by Asaduddin Owaisi is founded on a negative ideology. So when a party has been founded on a negative ideology, definitely party leaders workers always speak negatively about the country and the ruling party."

"Asaduddin Owaisi doesn`t seem to know or he pretends that he doesn`t know about the welfare schemes implemented by PM Narendra Modi`s govt," he added.

ricket tensions between India and Pakistan have been heightened by boycott calls in India ahead of their T20 World Cup clash on Sunday.

A series of killings in Indian-occupied Kashmir has set off the anger, even though the Indian board has insisted the national team cannot withdraw from the game.

Decades of bitter rivalry between the neighbours often clouds their cricket encounters. India has largely refused to play bilateral games against Pakistan since 2008, after deadly attacks in Mumbai, which India blamed on Pakistan and the latter strongly denied.

Now they only play each other in international events. The last meeting was at the 50-over World Cup two years ago but even that was at the centre of boycott calls.

The killings of 11 migrant workers and minority Hindus and Sikhs in Indian-occupied Kashmir have led to the latest demands made in India.

The hashtag #BlacklistPakistan” was trending on Twitter Wednesday.

Rajeev Shukla, the Board of Control for Cricket in India vice president, said earlier that the country had a contractual obligation to take part.

“We strongly condemn the killings. However, under the International Cricket Council's commitments, you can't refuse to play any one (game),” Shukla told Indian media.

A cabinet minister, Giriraj Singh, had also urged the government to consider intervening to stop the match.

“I think if relations are not good, then this should be reconsidered,” Singh said when questioned about the match. Other politicians have also joined the calls.

However, India's badminton great Prakash Padukone said, “sports and politics should not be mixed and according to me it (the India-Pakistan match) should go on”.

India was also urged to boycott the 2019 World Cup game against Pakistan because of a suicide bomb attack in occupied Kashmir in February of that year in which more than 40 troops were killed.

Pakistan denied any role in the assault but the two countries came to the brink of war. India won the game which went ahead in June 2019.

India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in 2013 during a brief thaw in their rivalry.

You have a habbit of dragging BJP everywhere. But then again not surprising considering the state and region you comes from.

But understand one thing, when it comes to Pakistan...every Indian thinks alike (well except the brown nosing liberals).

This is what Arvind Kejriwal's AAP party MLA Atishi Marlena has to say about the game:

    But great topic.

Can anyone explain why India or Indians don't want to play cricket with Pakistan? Or why they want Pakistan cricket banned?
Pakistan makes them feel important I guess. Perhaps they don't have much to be proud of at home and that is why they need to constantly bring up Pakistan?

Amidst political statements around the high-octane India-Pakistan T20 match slated for tomorrow, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir on Saturday exuded confidence over Team India's victory while adding that nothing will impact its performance.

India-Pakistan T20 match is slated for October 24. The last time the two teams had taken on each other was during the 2019 ODI World Cup.

Speaking to ANI, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP said, "My best wishes are with the team. They have performed well till now. They will surely win. I have full confidence in them."

Asked about the impact of political pressure on the match, Gambhir said, "The team is doing great. Nothing will impact their performance. The team will play well and will win."

There is a call for cancelling the match between India and Pakistan from several political leaders following the killings of civilians by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, sparking fear in the Valley.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla had said India will have to play arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 World Cup as no team can refuse to play another side in a tournament organised by International Cricket Council (ICC).

The much-awaited high-octane clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup will take place on Sunday in Dubai. The former cricketer further refuted the statements coming in from the opposite camp that Pakistan has a better side than India this time.

"Pakistan always says like this. If India plays with the same potential then we can win over any country," Gambhir emphasised.

Meanwhile, Gambhir started the fourth Jan Rasoi in Delhi on Saturday.

On Gautam Gambhir Foundation's Jan Rasoi, the BJP MP said, "I want nobody to sleep empty stomach. With that idea, I am come up with Jan Rasoi. From each centre we are feeding around 4,000 people. I want to open more such centres so that we can feed more needy people."

That is one helluva thrashing India took today. Right from the start we bullied the match not allowing them to get off the usual fast start. When Kohli who played a good yet rather slow innings by his standards was dismissed I knew this one was in the bag. Our bowling was outstanding, fielding was good without being spectacular and batting was perfect to the tea. I could not understand why Kohli bought on Shami instead of Bumrah near the end that decided the match. What a stupid decision by the Indian skipper.

Indian team took the defeat well without causing any fuss unlike their media who talks up the match as if it was war putting unimaginable pressure on their players. Now me must thrash NZ for pulling out of the recent tour to Pak.

Indian ban on Pakistan players in the IPL looks even more pathetic today. joshila bhai argued that Pakistan players weren't good enough to play in IPL, so I guess this defeat must have stung badly.

The old saying comes to mind: keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.
