tough chance looks like a drop from conway?

I feel like Kiwis are playing one bowler too many. They opted for 5 frontline bowlers on top of 2 good part-timers.

I think dropping Malan's catch can be a good thing. He bats slower than other batsmen.

Gatting’s reverse sweep to Border in 87 World cup final changed the course of match
Buttler’s reverse sweep reminds me of 1987.

where is that famed ultra aggressive English batting? again ******** in their pants due to the pressure of occasion. It's one thing to bash useless bowlers in bilaterals and other to do it here.

Why Philips?
-
10th November 2021, 19:25 #96
I am surprised that Philips is bowling when New Zealand are playing 5 frontline bowlers (along with 2 really good part-timers).
He is leaking runs. 10 from the over already.

Very interesting situation after 11 overs. England’s middle order will be tested against the New Zealand squeeze on a big ground. We’ll find out if England can cope after Buttler goes early. Malan threatening to do just that and Livingstone still to come.
-
10th November 2021, 19:28 #103
England are so good. Roy isn't, and you get Buttler and Bairstow but still find yourself under the pump.
Rooting for them to meet Pak in the Final.
"I score a lot of runs (playing selfishly) and my team loses, what good are those runs? ."

posters already writing england off lol, this isnt a 180-200 pitch, this is also a semi final of a world cup , pressure comes with runs on the board. 160 should be a match winning total

Looks like Moeen will try to play the anchor role and let Malan, Livingstone, Morgan etc go hard the other end.
170 would be a very strong total and with wickets in hand they should get there.

Confusing captaincy from Williamson. He gave Boult 4 overs who went for 40 runs. Santner should've bowled more.Last edited by sweep_shot; 10th November 2021 at 20:05.
