lord no, its amazing how bad a commentator he is, the amusing thing is he assumes its cos his english ain't perfect, not cos he's a terrible comm. the state of commentary around the world, even in football, is shocking, need to go back to having at least some broadcast journalists doing commentary as opposed to former players.

Former England captains and leading broadcasters David Gower, Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain will call action in the historic three-match Test series between Pakistan and England in December.
While Gower has commentated in Pakistan during the HBL Pakistan Super League and the recent seven-match T20I series between Pakistan and England, this will be the first instance of Atherton and Hussain touring Pakistan as broadcasters through PCB’s official partnership with Sky Sports UK.
The Pakistani voices in the commentary panel are former Test cricketers Bazid Khan, Waqar Younis and Urooj Mumtaz.Last edited by Saj; 29th November 2022 at 01:35.

The English commentators are all class. Bazid is ok, and Urooj, in a non-t20 context is an ever improving commentator and analyst. This is a pretty good panel all things considered.

Barmy Army has arrived in Islamabad. It would be great fun to watch along with them but unfortunately tickets sale has been very poor so far. People are reluctant to buy tickets for pindi test mainly due to lack of facilities at the stadium.
Serious Sport has nothing to do with fair play... it is war minus the shooting.

BBC’s iconic Test Match Special will provide commentary on England men’s three-Test tour to Pakistan, which commences in Rawalpindi on Thursday. The TMS, now in its 65th year, had also provided commentary on England’s last tour to Pakistan in 2005, while it also covered the series in 2012 and 2015 when it was staged in the United Arab Emirates.
The TMS team travelling to Pakistan comprises some of the most respected and influential voices in cricket, including correspondent and former England fast bowler Jonathan Agnew, legendary Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis, former England spinner Vic Marks, who also toured Pakistan with England in 1984, World Cup winner Alex Hartley; along with commentators Simon Mann.Last edited by MenInG; 30th November 2022 at 14:50.

Waqar Younis on commentary often makes duff calls it seems. He doesn’t seem to read the game particularly well as a commentator.
At the end of the 1st Test he was suggesting that Ben Stokes do everything with the old ball and the bowlers that he ended up NOT doing, and Stokes turned out to be right.
And just now, Waqar confidently said that Abdullah Shafique is looking “extremely comfortable” against the spin bowling. Shafique was caught behind off Jack Leach from the next ball. Lol

Atherton, Hussain and Gower (in that order) keeping the commentary box afloat. Urooj and Waqar are absolutely dreadful

By and large the local commentary has been awful.
Struggling with the rules, dull, bland and mind-numbing.
I do like Waqar when he talks about quick bowling though. I just wish he would really say what he wants to and is feeling though.
