Not just pace, he hits the deck harder than floaty Southee and gets the ball to bounce. Our resident Kiwi poster is pretty clueless

India has abundant left arm spinners these days. They are simply dominating the domestic. He could have anyone bowl to him. Problem is he is not picking the length. That is something that goes down as you get older.

Rohit Sharma anchored India's chase with a fine-tuned 51 as India registered a series-clinching win over New Zealand on Saturday.

Chasing a paltry target of 109 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Cricket Stadium in Raipur, India reached home in 20.1 overs with Shubman Gill also playing a solid knock of 40 not out.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami took three wickets, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar scalped two while Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav claimed one each as India bundled out New Zealand for 108 runs.

Host skipper Rohit Sharma had won the toss and elected to bowl against the Blackcaps in the second ODI.

India have now taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series.

They had registering a narrow 12-run win in the opening game in Hyderabad.

Oflate India has been slack in closing out the game. 4 or 5 games like that in recent times. THey take the foot off the gas and let the opposition sneak in.

    India - 113
    OZ - 112
    Pakistan- 106

Those 4 sides should be favorites to qualify for the semis in the World Cup

If SA gets their team right they have an outside chance. But they shouldn't choke. Most of the south africans are familiar with Indian condtiions due to IPL. But their bowling often wilts under pressure in Indian conditions.

Dangerous? How? This New Zealand side was missing some key players.

England are favorites. But NZ has never won a ODI series in India. India is also missing Bumrah, Jadeja. Even with full strength they got thrashed. It is very hard to beat India in India even with well below prime Kohli.

    Depends on

    Jadeja , bumrah comeback
Fitness if Shami , siraj , Malik
    Correct selection
And most imp - sky getting more chances . He will win u matches out of nowhere
Last - dew factor . The first game clearly showed that few changes everything . If they change timings , india are favorites with Sri Lanka as a dark horse and New Zealand an ever present threat with aussie .

Pak will remain unpredictable but is a good odi team if shaheen is fit and batters are in form .

I still don't know the venues. Indian pitches are helpful for any type of bowlers depending on where you play. So all top teams can beat each other depending on toss, surface. Kohli is like 10 or 20% of his peak form. That is the major problem. If Kohli is as good as he was during his peak, India would be a resounding favorites. Same way Rohit is also not the old Rohit that played in 2019 world cup. KL Rahul is a choker. He will keep and lose matches with his keeping.

I wouldn't get carried away by our performances and results of JAMODI series.

Use to take these seriously and give importance to the results as I thought they'd dictate how we'll perform in the WC. Thought we'd bomb in 2019 WC and the WC last year given our form and performances before those tournaments but the team performed admirably in those tournaments and progressed a lot further than most imagined.

What I've learnt over the years is the team are really methodical about their preparation, planning wise I don't think there is a team that as good. By the time the WC is here the team will have things worked out with their best XI and they'll be playing their best cricket, if not close to it.

Taking Finn to the WC would be a mistake. Need to look at Young and possibly Mitchell.

He's just too careless up the top and not someone who you can trust to tough it out when conditions aren't favorable.

There are no outright favourites in this format. Top 4 sides in the rankings should make the semis. Pakistan have an outside chance and thats all we can say now.

India's concern is death overs bowling and Bumrah's fitness doesn't give the confidence that he will be back to his best by the time World Cup comes.

Siraj is good upfront with new ball.
Shami is inconsistent but when he gets his rythm right, he can be dangerous.
Umran has pace but still a rookie.
    Shardul is bog mediocre.

I think India should try Mohsin or Tyagi also because there are clearly lack of options assuming one more pacers injury.

Dont think it’s Jamodi series . NZ are a great side and had almost won the 1st game . Bilaterals an are ideal preparation for the World Cup .
