Just this one incident I heard the other day from an aunt of mine visiting Islamabad from the U.S

She went over to a friends house in Islamabad and was asked to sit in drawing room where she waited for her friend. While waiting, she saw some girl running across the hall giggling and laughing.

When her friend finally came she asked her whether her children were here (thinking that the little girl was probably her granddaughter). He friend goes "No, why do you ask?" my aunt told her that she saw a little girl run across the hall and was wondering who that was as she had assumed that it was her granddaughter and her friend replied, rather nonchalantly, "Oh no, that's just one of the Jinns that live in this house."

Not particularly sure how humans can become desensitised to jinns, I mean they must be significantly different to us right ?

I asked the same question. I said "Why didn't they just move out or try to get rid of the Jinns?" I was told that they had been living there with the Jinns for a long time and since the Jinns had never caused any harm or disturbances they weren't bothered by it.

Doesn't sound believable in the sense that Jinns are mostly threatening and that unless they are Muslims they would probably object to worship of another kind.

Apparently, these were Muslim Jinns. I wouldn't have believed it myself it wasn't for the source. The aunt who saw this isn't the type to lie about Jinn's and stuff. In fact, I highly doubt she believed in them before she actually witnessed what she did

Interesting. They can take the form of humans from what I have read. So it probably helps them blend in. I don't think we'd be able to see them in their natural form as, my understanding is that they are in another dimension that we are unable to see with the human eye.

One of my aunts had a similar story in her old house. It was being used as a Quran class school for kids. One of the days a kid was pushed over by seemingly an unseen creature. The teacher at the time told my aunt that it was one of the Jinn children that comes to learn everyday bring naughty and pushed someone over. She even described what they look like and which corner of the backyard they live in. It was quite creepy because my young cousin who used to live there would always complain about seeing red eyes watching him in the bathroom. But we would always just dismiss his claims as imagination. Who knows?

I have heard stories of people teaching Quran to Jinn children. I'm not sure how reliable these are though. They're possibly just urban legends passed down from generation to generation. They would say that this woman would sit a bunch of kids down in one row and another row would be just empty seats and every now and then she would take her stick and lightly smack it in the air across one of the empty seats because one of the Jinn children were misbehaving.

Who knows how true this stuff is though.

I heard this story from one of my friend's mother. Ghost or Jinn?

One of her male colleagues went with 2 other friends to a beach in West Bengal (place called digha near Kolkata). They stayed there till late night, drinking and eating. The beach was completely deserted and there was no moon

They were eating various non-veg dishes, fish, chicken and mutton. They were also in between taking some photos. Suddenly one of them dropped their camera and there was a flash. They thought nothing of it. Only one guy out of 3 was eating mutton. When they reached the hotel room, that guy got sick and showed symptoms of food poisoning. It became so severe that they had to take him to a hospital and then he died the next day.

He was very sad for a few days. After some time he developed the photos in his camera. In one of the photos (and my friend's mom swears she saw the photo) there is a shadow figure standing behind the friend. He is staring at the guy eating mutton. It is a tall figure, all in black, very thin. Only think not black about him is his tongue, which was out of his mouth, bright red. They had seen nothing while on the beach

This is the beach in question

Have heard very similar stories. Both in Pak and Aus.

    Looks quite creepy.

I have a story too. I was once in Pakistan, and I was visiting a village with some relatives living there. It's a pretty open place and is very nice. We had been staying there for some days with everything as normal as can be. Then one night I decided to sleep outside, as it felt quite good and it was pretty warm inside. I'm not sure what time it was, but I woke up to a loud growl.

At first, I decided to dismiss the sound and tried to go back to sleep. It didn't stop and only got worse. I heard the gate creek, and finally decided to get up and look at what might have been causing it. I went over to the gate and saw a cat, it was massive and had white gleaming eyes. It looked quite creepy and I wasn't able to shoo it off. For some reason, when I approached it, it sat still making no sound whatsoever. I went back to sleep, and it was quiet.

The next morning, I saw the cat again. I was going out to visit one of my relatives and saw it in a dark corner, staring at me. It was pretty freaky, as normally cats ran away from me pretty fast If they saw me. I just left it alone and continued.

That night, I heard the growls again. I saw the cat and it was right in the same position, my dad was there inside and got up and told me to go to sleep. I told him of the annoying cat who wouldn't stop growling and he went over to see what I was talking about. There was literally nothing there. He told me I was hearing things and told me to go back to sleep. I never saw it again.

I've heard with stuff with cats before. Once in England, I was sleeping and outside I heard a crying baby, which a cat meowed loudly every-time the baby cried. It got pretty loud but ended quickly.

Ghosts, spirits and demons are nothing more than dark energy which has manifested itself in our three dimensional reality through a cross over between multiple dimensions. Mostly ghosts are the spirits of dead people who carry resentment and guilt because something unpleasant has been done to them in their lifetimes and they haven't moved on before their departure from this physical plane of existence, hence they're stuck in this reality incapable to let go and go back to the source. Light beings like angels and spirits of highly spiritually evolved beings like saints keep an eye on them, reminding them that they have to let go and transcend their blockages which is stopping them from evolving into higher realms but these poltergeists (powerful dead spirits who have spent most of the time on this plane and developed Telekinesis to disturb people) are so stubborn and unwilling to listen *cough*@unberkoen*cough* hence they stay, lose lots and lots of karma lagging behind in evolutionary ladder and disturb people for their enjoyment on this physical plane.

In order to get this thread back on track. I will share a story I read somewhere recently. Found it pretty interesting.

I am Sarim from the city of Karachi. This incident took place during my last semester of engineering (**) in the month of November 2011, now I have passed out.

Our semester exams were to start in a week, and we had this course Industrial Control Electronics which I found a bit difficult to understand and so did rest of the 5 guys in our group. We had this nerdy sort of a guy in our class, Ahsan Ahmed, who understood this course very well, securing the highest marks in the mid-term examinations as well. He finally agreed to help us on a few very important topics that were more than likely to come in the final exam of ICE paper. He called six of us to come over for a night stay so that he would help us with those chapters.

We got to his bungalow which is located in a pretty secluded area of karachi (manghopeer). I have been at his home for the very first time, it was a double story building, we entered the main gate and went upstairs to the second floor, which only had a study room and and big veranda.

We got in and put away our bag packs. One of my friends, Shezad Burki, is a cigarette addict so, as usual, he took out his pack of smokes and lit up one before we could proceed with the studies. In the meantime, we started joking around, playing mp3 songs on our cell phones and trolling each other, making pretty loud noises. Ahsan kept telling us to keep our voices low again and again which we ignored.

After about 30 minutes we started studying at 1:00 am and carried on continuously for about 2 hours and 20 minutes when Shezad insisted us to take a break so that he could smoke a couple cigarettes So we halted the studies for a while and again started trolling eac other and playing mp3 songs at high volumes. Ahsan again told us not to make any noises, and keep our voices down but we didn't care.

Suddenly I heard a bang on the door as if something struck the door, which I ignored since it wasn't that loud. After about a minute or so, it was like bang bang bang (pretty fierce this time) felt like somebody was throwing stones at the door with great force. All seven of us in room heard it this time. We all were staring at each others faces, startled and having no clue who could it be at 3:20 am in the morning. I asked Ahsan if it could be someone from his family, but he said no one would be awake in his house at that time. Then again it started bang bang bang bang bang even more fierce this time than before. We could also hear the sound of rolling stones after they struck the door.

It continued for about 2 minutes without a break and we all stood there in silence awaiting what would happen next. When finally it stopped for about a minute, Ahsan got up and rushed towards the door. He held the door lock and then left it the next second crying in pain and saying it is too hot. I went towards the door and touched the door lock with a finger and yes it was hot enough to fry an egg.

After that we all moved away from the door. The banging sound on the door would happen randomly and then stop. This went on until about 5:00am, when we heard Ahsan's father shouting,"Ahsan,it's time for prayers" and he opened up the door without any problem.

I can't tell you how happy we were to see him open the door, blood again started to flow in our veins. We picked our bag packs and just rushed out of the room. As we descended the stairs we all looked back at door to find the piles of stones outside the doors but were amazed to found not even a single stone there. The door was scratchless.

Ahsan's father didn't hear any such bangings during the night when we inquired nor did his mother or any of his siblings. We still can't figure out what happened that night, but yeah I passed my Industrial Control Electronics with a 3.3 Gpa

Good one. I've had some similar experiences, but I never have took them too seriously.

Also, I'd love some more stories. My favourite thread on Time Pass needs more love.

Yeah it's to do with sleep paralysis.

For many people, sleep paralysis happens if they are woken up in a stage when they are in a deep sleep or in a dream like state. They are unable to move and normally see some scary things, like ghosts or jinns etc. This happens because when you are in a deep sleep, or a dream like status, your body makes it so you're paralysed. Some people don't have this, and can act out their dreams and as such, control their dreams.

Weirdly enough, my friend has done a weird trick for him to be able to control himself in his dreams. What he did was he marked a symbol on his hand at the start of a new day. He looked at it for some-time before he went to bed, and then in his dream he saw the symbol. After this, he realized (In his dream) that it was just a dream, meaning that he now had full control over his dream self.

Fun Fact: There is a common theory on dreams that they are simulations of possible scenarios that could happen. They are simulated to see what your reaction would be in such an event and to train you on a scenario like the one in your dream without putting you in any danger. It's cool, but for those people (such as myself) who have many weird dreams, it makes me wonder if this theory is correct, but it's still interesting.

I can usually control a dream if it's a dream in a dream for some reason.

It's not sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is something different.

Being able to control your dream is called lucid dreaming. It isn't supernatural or anything and is possible to do but requires practice.

I was talking about a similar situation about the body that has to do with dreaming. Yeah I couldn't think of the word it was, turns out it's lucid.

A story I heard from my colleague about his friend. This friend apparently comes from a very religious family and according to him he was taught from an early age by his parents to respect jins and assorted supernatural entities. One of these lessons was that if you are in a deserted place and want to answer the call of nature always announce it in a loud voice in case some unseen entity is present and gets offended. In such situations he was therefore in a habit of loudly saying 'yahan koi insaan ya jin to mojood nahin?' before relieving himself.

So one day he was out with friends late at night at the karachi beach (do darya for those familiar with karachi). It was 3 or 4 at night and the beach was deserted when he felt the need to take a leak. He walked away from the other friends, loudly said 'yahan koi insaan ya jin to mojood nahin?' and just when he was ready to go he heard someone reply 'haan hum hein'. He thought his friends were joking with him and just to play along asked the same question again and got the same answer in a very loud voice. At the same time he saw a white silhouette from the corner of his eye which made him so scared that he unintentionally relieved himself and ran back to his friends. He almost passed out and the friends had to carry him home. He remained incoherent for the next couple of days saying that someone wase following him because he had despoiled there residence.

Apparently these supernatural entities are really sensitive about their hygiene.

Apparently so, but it is at odds with the belief that they haunt bathrooms, garbage heaps and other such places.

To be honest I didn't ask if he was only taking a leak or doing something more substantial. The ghosts would have been the least of the friends' problems if it was the latter

Most people have a very simple answer to that. The clean ones living in posh localities are muslims, the lower class homeless ones living in dumpsters are not

This reminds me of a story that happened to my cousin in their Karachi house way back in the early 90s. She was sleeping, and in her dream she saw an old man on the edge of her bed. When she, in her dream, tried to get up and alert someone, the old man twisted her pinky on her foot. Very hard. She screamed in pain and woke up as a result. For the next week her pinky on her foot was swollen. I remember seeing that when I was in their house visiting for summer holidays and being freaked out.

I've seen a member of the family posessed (not sure if is possible?)

During that period, weird & scary things happened around the house- footsteps/banging, threatening writing on walls. When this person flipped, it would take 5-6 adults to pin them down..such was the strength...the voice would change completely. Stuff you would see in horror movies.

yes. They are loud ghosts, who come into the house uninvited and refuse to go away. Demand large quantities of fish and sweet. Brilliant and highly entertaining but difficult to shut them up once they start going, particularly on football and politics

Every household has that weird kid. Growing up, my sister was the weird one. Always talking to imaginary people. Always up late at night, roaming around the house without fear. She believed in all sorts of things, ghosts and goblins and jinns. While I quietly went about being the ideal son, getting good grades, trying to sound knowledgeable about politics and sports and other material things, my sister would roam around with her head in the cloud, smiling and talking to herself and trying to get me to join in

Playing games with her was weird yet entertaining. We would start with some normal board games, ludo, playing ghar ghar, monopoly. But it would not be just the two of us. The kid next door who had died 10 years ago, the old uncle who had died before we were born, some random drifter who couldn't possibly be there, everyone would join us. And of course, she would be the only one to be able to see them. Sometimes I could almost swear that the game pieces were moving by themselves. But of course, I knew it was all her doing, her imagination. But I never felt scared as long as she was with me. My elder sister would look after me and I was safe as long as I was with her. So what if she was this weird kid. She was my sister and I loved her.

I grew into an angsty teen. Was bullied at school. Silent, morose, uncommunicative. I hated everything and anything. Life wasn't good enough. I started experimenting with drugs. My parents tried their hardest to get to me. I shut them out. They pleaded, took me to shrinks, put me into rehabilitation. But they had lost their son. The only person I could share anything with, was my sister. She looked out for me, did not judge me, loved me unconditionally. Slowly but surely, she brought me back from the brink. I sobered up, finished my degree, got a job. She stayed at home to help me study.

I fell in love and got married and had a son. However, I felt I was constantly measuring my wife against my sister and she was always coming up short. She didn't like me talking about my sister all the time. And I would call my sister and complain about my wife. My parents asked me to give my marriage a chance. My sister pleaded with me to cut off contacts with her if it meant that our marriage could be saved. But how could I? I knew how much she had sacrificed for me. In the my wife walked out but thankfully left my son behind, someone who I love with all my heart and the only human being I could relate to after my sister

I haven't seen my sister for a while now. My parents are glad. They think that the medicines are finally working. You see, they tried to convince me that I never had a sister. I was an only child, always been an only child. The doctors, my friends all tell me that my sister is imaginary. Why then has my son started talking about his aunt who visits him everyday and looks after him?

I can't remember if i shared this before but i will do it again.

About 10 years ago me and my brother were alone in the house (rest of the family went to Pakistan). In the morning i woke up as alarm went off to get ready for work and my brother left pretty much same time so as i got up to make my way to bathroom (on 1st floor and both of us were on ground floor), i heard noise of water from bathroom and thought my brother was taking shower so went back to bed. After waiting for 15-20 minutes i decided to make my way towards bathroom again and saw my brother coming out of his bedroom (still wearing trousers), i surprisingly looked at him and said i thought you were having a shower and he said the same thing that he heard noises and thought i was having a shower (meaningless to say we were both late to work) but when we went upstairs to check the bathroom "it was wet all around as if someone just had a shower". We both looked at each other but couldn't really talk about it much (maybe due to fear). My brother found out few years later from a friend that the rented house we were living in was owned by someone who was murdered in that house prior to us moving there. Before that incident, we always heard noises from roof as if someone was running around and we thought it has to be a possum or some cat but never really saw anything.

I never ever believed these Jin/Bhoot stories but that was one weird experience, still think there is a lot of exaggeration about Jin/Bhoot/magic etc but no one can deny these kind of things exist.

    Care to share some details?

    Nice. Nosleep?

Nice one. Nosleep has lost its charm over the past few months, getting too predictable.

once me ,my father and brother were sleeping on rooftop ,suddenly and spontaneously we all started yelling and we yelled for almost 10 sec and none of us knew why,I personally thought perhaps someone of us yelled and the rest of us just got panicked. but it was so spontaneous and synchronized that it is hard to believe.the scarier part is after few second we heard similar kind of voices from a distant house whose residents also slept on rooftop that night.Next day neighborhood inquired us what happened last night? but how could we answer them?
    .................................
now I think if someone of us had a scary dream that night he would have sourly told us.It is quite strange

Yes, yes it was. But I forgot who was imaginary. Was it my sister? Or my son? I mean I can see them both but I know only one them exists. Who do you think it is?

Better to ask your wife. A second party confirming it is better than that sister one where you were the only party.

He thanked his lucky stars that he found shelter and walked up to the cabin, the door was open; so he knocked on the door and walked in. He looked around the cabin and there was no-one there, it was completely empty but for a little bed just sitting there all made up.

He was so tired from all that walking, he thought to himself he's go to bed and explain to whoever owned this cabin what he's doing there in the morning or whenever the person gets back. He went to bed but had this really bad feeling that the paintings around the cabin were staring at him. These paintings were all over the 4 walls and he felt wherever he looked the paintings were looking also. The eyes followed him and whenever he glanced at them direct, the faces on the painting would look SOOO p1ssed at him, so angry like they wanted to just kill him! Anyway he tried to ignore the paintings and fell asleep eventually.

The next morning he woke up (the owner hadn’t come back) and huge rays of sunlight hit his eyes....ho looked around the cabin room and noticed that there weren’t any paintings at all...

In my case it was having the same dream over again, which eventually led me to being fed up. I was a teenager then.

I used to dream of a large mountain, with me standing on top. A big beast used to come, pick me up, fly around for a bit and then drop me to the ground, as I hit the ground I would wake up in a shock. One night when the beast came, for some reason I realised it was a dream and when the beast picked me up, I grabbed it by it's throat (realising it can't harm me) and did a dive straight to the ground smashing it's head into a few pieces. The thing never came back again. : afridi

My great great grandfather was a very pious man, a learned scholar who was very well known in the area. He used to regularly visit our mango tree in the village which was a few hundred metres away from his house. He found it a peaceful place to perform his prayers, usually the fajr prayer. The story goes, one day a group of Jinn made themselves to appear in front of him, as he had full knowledge of the existence of jinn, he did not fear their presence but asked them why they had appeared before him. One of the Jinn replied there is a wedding which needs to take place but they don't have an Imam to perform the nikkah (no reason as to why not) and if he would be so kind to carry out this duty. He agreed, carried out the nikkah and one of the Jinn ripped of a leaf from the mango tree, put some type of sweet halwa on it and passed it to him. He bought it back to the house and shared it with his family.

Anyway I was intrigued by this story but never really believed it until one day my brothers, sister and I woke up all with an organgy type of henna underneath our feet. I still remember it vividly, there was no texture to it and it was a very strange colour, not exactly orange but a type of mustardy, yellow orange which I've not seen to this day. I asked my mother what this was, she was not sure but suggested we may have either coloured it in, trying to play her up and jokingly also said you may have passed through a Jinns wedding. The story of my great great grandfather immediately came to mind and I wondered if it could be the same Jinns or perhaps their children who had got married now, so they are continuing to pass down their thanks. Even then I wasn't really convinced Jinns existed and even if they did I was in a totally different country, thousands of miles away from Pakistan where at that age I thought it's Jinns come from.

However a couple of years later, I heard of a local kid being possessed by a Jinn. Apparently he was speaking in a mature male voice and would constantly move his head around, often pulling his own hair but generally very ill. After speaking to a few people I was told he became ill(possessed) after he urinated on a tree in the local park which was only a short walk from house, coincidently this was my favourite tree as it grew the most tasty apples in the area, where I used to play all the time. The kid was eventually taken to Pakistan for some type of exorcism but I used to continue to visit this tree every autumn for the next few years hoping to pick off some apples but no apples ever grew again. Eventually the council cut the tree down.

It may all be just a coincidence or some type of freak events but it's an interesting story as I now believe in Jinns and have heard they do like to live around trees. I have never urinated near bushes or trees since but I'm waiting for an invite to a Jinns wedding, it would be amazing to see a Jinn in person.
