I understand you've got the Philly blinkers on, and I'm a big McNabb fan too, but if Philly tried to offer that trade to the Rams they'd be laughed out of the office before they could take another breath. I'd like to have McNabb on the team, but never at that price.
I agree would be a horrible trade from the RAMS point of view but I think you guys become a contendor for playoffs atleast with No.5 & a decent WO... Hate the ****** RAMS for stealing Gibson away from us midway last season that kid is going to be good....

Raiders open to giving star CB for McNabb
March, 26, 2010 Mar 262:35PM ETEmail Print Share By Bill WilliamsonThere are two new developments in the Donovan McNabb trade talks.

The Associated Press is reporting that McNabb talked to Philadelphia coach Andy Reid on Thursday and told him he wants to stay with the Eagles and does not want to go to Oakland or Buffalo. It has been reported that the Raiders and Bills have inquired about McNabb.

Reid and McNabb have been together for 11 years and have had a good relationship. I think Reid would have a difficult time sending McNabb to a team he has no interest going to if there been other comparable offers.

It's also being reported the Raiders are willing to put cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha in the deal. But the Eagles are reluctant because they may have to put other players in the deal and Asomugha has a huge contract.

If the Raiders are willing to part with their best player and the face of the franchise for McNabb, they are indeed interested in the quarterback. But it seems the feeling is not mutual.

In 17 starts against the Giants, McNabb has 3461 passing yards, 25 passing TD's, and 6 INT's, in addition to 447 rushing yards and 3 rushing TD's.

Kolb better be READY to produce these kinda stats!!!!!!!!!!!

The Eagles are in a tough spot right now. They've discussed trading McNabb and now teams are holding the up. I heard on ESPN that now they aren't being offered more than a 3rd round pick for McNabb. If McNabb isn't trade, it'll be an uncomfortable clubhouse.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb heading to Oakland Raiders in trade, sources say
    By Brad Wilson
    March 29, 2010, 10:39PM

Express-Times Photo | JOE GILLWill Donovan McNabb land in Oakland?According to several Web reports citing NFL sources, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb may soon find himself an Oakland Raider.

This would be terrific for the Eagles, less so for McNabb.

McNabb would be joining a team that went 5-11 last season and is considered among the league's most struggling franchises. He would probably much prefer to join a team that is a current contender, such as the Minnesota Vikings, but the Eagles will, and should, do what is right for the team, not the player.

The Eagles would get, the sources say, Oakland's second-round pick, No. 39 overall, at a minimum in the deal. That fits in the Eagles' target zone of a top-42 pick.

Oakland, the sources say, isn't concerned about the $6.2 million roster bonus McNabb is due May 5 or his impending free agency after 2010. Those considerations could sink a deal with many teams, but the Raiders' seeming indifference to such constraints moves them to the front of the line.

Not a bad call this, Raiders have a very talented side, problem is that they lack any leadership and poor coaching. I think with Number-5 at the helm Heyward-Bey will turn into a dangerous threat, who knows Raiders might even make the playoffs.

McNabb to the the SKINS OH MY GOD:

    McNabb Traded To Redskins
The Eagles have confirmed that the Washington Redskins have acquired quarterback Donovan McNabb in exchange for the 37th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft and a 3rd- or 4th-round pick in 2011.

Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the trade on twitter, tweeting "Filed to ESPN: Donovan McNabb has been traded to the Washington Redskins. Compensation still unknown. But McNabb's a Redskin."

The Eagles will hold a 9:30 pm EST press conference. Watch it live on PhiladelphiaEagles.com

The Eagles now have 11 picks in what is widely considered to be a loaded draft, including five picks in the first three rounds.

I don't follow football much, only in bits and sometimes to bother Romali

But this trade seems like a poor deal for the Eagles. McNabb is an Eagle legend or at least close to it. To trade him for a few draft picks is a bit insulting. Not only that but he is a good QB and surely they could have traded him to a team where they could get an all star in return and a draft pick.

Washington is laughing all the way.

Scarey thing here is; Donovan knows the Eagles inside out and the Skins already have a very solid Defense and Shanahan has started loading up their backfield. Donovan for first time in him life will have a running game, Skins wont win the Bowl this year but next year is a strong possiblity once they rebuild that Oline of theirs... If Kolb starts to stink the joint, damn well bet the entire BIRD COUNTRY WILL BURN...... I dont know what to say Donovan should have only been traded to a division rival if they got something ridiculous in return def not for THIS.....

Shanahan & Elway = Superbowl twice
    Shanahan & No.5 = atleast 1 Superbowl...

    DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible trade for Philly in my opinion. They got nothing in return. A couple of draft picks is pathetic for someone like Mcnabb. I think the Redskins had Philly at its mercy in this deal because everyone knew that Mcnabb was going to be traded thus they were probably not receiving good offers.

Great job Eagles. You ******* give up a proven QB and to top it off you keep him in the same division. Bad news for the NFC East. I'm hoping Kolb wets the bed and Reid gets booted out. Philly fans will miss McNabb. Jackson and Maclin are nit going to be very big threats silty Kolb at QB.

Eagles got a downgrade. Skins moved up. But Big Blue is looking very strong

McNabb strong-arms his way to D.C.

    By Jason Cole, Yahoo! Sports
    7 hours, 42 minutes ago

Donovan McNabb stood his ground against the Philadelphia Eagles for the second straight year. Now, the question is whether he’ll get his revenge.

After being told last month that the Eagles would not deal him to NFC East-rival Washington, McNabb essentially forced Philadelphia’s hand by refusing to talk with any of the other teams that had expressed interest in recent weeks. In the process, McNabb can now take out his simmering anger on the Eagles’ front office that essentially forced him out of a city where he had played his entire career.

“Frankly, I’m a little shocked,” a source close to McNabb said. “I never thought [the Eagles would] do this. Never. But, yeah, this is the same thing that happened last year.”

That’s a reference to when McNabb leveraged the Eagles to give him a “financial apology” after he had been benched in Week 12 of the 2008 season during a blowout loss to Baltimore. This time, McNabb won a stare-down with Eagles president Joe Banner and right-hand man Howie Roseman.

A stare-down that could come back to haunt the Eagles if they’re not right about new starter Kevin Kolb(notes), who is going into his fourth season but remains largely untested. If Kolb fails and McNabb, who is going to play in a similar system under strong offensive head coach Mike Shanahan, makes the Redskins a consistent contender over the next three to four years, the results could undermine what has been one of the league’s most consistent front offices.

McNabb, who is in the final year of his deal, made this happen by making it clear he wasn’t going anywhere else but Washington. When the Buffalo Bills expressed interest – and even were willing to give McNabb a contract extension – he passed on the offer. When the Oakland Raiders sniffed around and showed willingness to trade for the quarterback without an extension, McNabb indicated to the Eagles through his associates that he’d retire.

“He has plenty of money,” the source close to McNabb said. “He’s not doing anything he doesn’t want to do.”

For the past two weeks, the Eagles had hoped McNabb’s resolve would thaw. He refused to budge, even telling the Eagles he’d be glad to return to the team even though he knew full well Philadelphia wanted no part of the season-long distraction his presence would create. What the Eagles wanted more than anything was to clear the way for Kolb to start and, in the process, sign him to a contract extension at a more favorable price. Kolb also quietly has been forcing the issue by making it clear that if he’s not the starter by this season, he wouldn’t sign an extension. Kolb’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, meaning the Eagles would have had to put a high tender on him after this season to keep him.

While the Eagles may have paved the way for a new Kolb deal, Banner and Roseman could be paving the road for their dismissal if this doesn’t work. This could be a tipping point in determining who really runs the Eagles. Coach Andy Reid called the shots on the roster, until most recently, when that power increasingly shifted to Banner, a clever contract negotiator who has become expert in locking up players to long-term deals and keeping the Eagles competitive.

Banner The problem is that Banner’s semi-Moneyball techniques haven’t produced a championship. Neither has McNabb, but he has gotten the Eagles to five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. Was that success more McNabb or Banner?

Reid believed it was McNabb and had voiced his desire for the Eagles to keep him, even if it cost them Kolb. “Andy thinks Kolb is going to be really good, maybe great. But he knows Donovan is great and probably will be for three or four years,” said a source close to Reid.

Now teamed with Shanahan, a brilliant playcaller, McNabb could exact some serious payback from the Eagles. It would be sweet justice for McNabb, who never has felt respected in Philadelphia.

“Not from Day 1,” the source close to the quarterback said, referring to when Eagles fans booed when McNabb was selected instead of Ricky Williams(notes) in 1998. “Never, and after a while you get tired of it. He’s put up with this for his whole career. They never gave him real weapons until now with those guys [wide receivers Jeremy Maclin(notes) and DeSean Jackson(notes)]. He took them to how many title games with a bunch of stiffs at [wide] receiver?”

McNabb did have Terrell Owens(notes) in 2004, but that turned into a well-documented disaster the following season.

While the Redskins don’t feature a bunch of stars at wide receiver or running back and are rebuilding their offensive line, they have the No. 4 overall draft pick. They also have Shanahan.

Not a bad situation if you’re McNabb.

AHA the highlighted bit summs things up perfectly why we had to trade him for such low value........

It seems that the jets are going for it all this season by acquiring some talented players while disregarding their off-field issues. Reports are that they've acquired star receiver Santonio Holmes form the Steelers for a mere 5th round pick. Low risk, high reward pickup fpr the Jets but chances are Holmes will miss the first 4games as he's facing suspension. Braylon, Cromartie, and Holmes are all talented but have major character flaws. Let's see how it goes. I'm glad the Giants stayed away from these guys. Our wideout corp is very talented and we don't need a repeat of the Plaxico blunder.

Jets want to actually win it all, Eagles FO pay attention, no use having a star QB if you cant give him any toys to play with *cough* *cough* Donovan's stay in Philly.. Puzzling that Eagles brought in Eric Berry for a private work out since he is projected to go as a top 7 pick and Eagles are all the way down at 24.. Could the Eagles be thinking of moving up by packaging their 1st the two 2nd round picks and possibly a player for Berry ? should be an interesting draft...

King: Eagles Moving Up In 1st Round For Berry Or Thomas
Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports that the Eagles want to move up in the first round to get one of the top two safeties, either Eric Berry or Earl Thomas.

“Let me rephrase that — I know they want to come up. The Eagles are in a very small club, teams that want to jump up from low in the first round to the upper half. I believe Philly wants one of the two safeties in the draft — Eric Berry of Tennessee or Earl Thomas of Texas. With the 24th, 35th, 55th and 70th picks, the Eagles absolutely have the ammo to move up.”

They know that going into the season with Macho Harris, Marlin Jackson is a bit ridiculous. Harris didn’t show much last year and Jackson is coming off of two knee surgeries.
To me this is a confirmation but it’s not news because it’s very obvious.

As I said in the previous posting, the Eagles will try to take care of their safety needs in the first round and their cornerback needs in the second round.

I think Derrick Morgan is in the mix, as well as center Maurkice Pouncey.

Peter King needs to get back on the Favre watch. Leave the draft to the real experts like Kiper, McShay, and Mayock.

    Some Giants' notes:
Reeses is high on Spiller and may move up to take him even though HB isn't a great need. But most experts have labeled Spiller as the top player in this draft. Giants might move Osi or Kiwi to move up.
McClain is still on top of the Big Blue wish list even with the medical issue. They'll grab him if he falls to 15. He's expected to be a 10-12 pick.
Giants might move down the draft if McClain and Spiller are of the board. They might go after MLB Weatherspoon if they move down to the 20s. Might help them lick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Less than a week to go now!!

Mcnabb & TO could be reunited just as I predicted earlier:

    http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/The...l_owens_in_d.c.

I fricken knew it, I bet TO rang up Donovan and said; " Yeah home boy I know how you feel I felt the same way about the Eagles FO, I am here for ya" Donovan wouldve fell for it.......

Meanwhile another rumour surfacing Eagles & Chiefs maybe swaping 1st round picks, not long to go now; BERRY would be awesome but at the right price...

Big Brn suspended for 6 games. Latest rumors are that the Sterlers are shopping Ben and would trade him for a top 10 pick. Oakland and Buffalo might make the move.

Report That Eagles Could Move Way Up To Get Berry
With only hours remaining unitl the 2010 NFL draft begins, the NFL.com is reporting that the Eagles want to move up very high in the first round, even as high as the number five pick in the draft in order to land Tennessee safety Eric Berry.

Derrin Horton of the NFL Network is stationed at the Eagles Nova Care complex and he tells us that sources are letting him know that the Eagles want Berry in the worst way.

The former Volunteer safety is considered a can’t miss player who will step in for an NFL team, start from day one and make perennial trips to the Pro Bowl.

He would really be a replacement for for future Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins who left for Denver last off season.

The Eagles are also said to have their eyes on Georgia Tech defensive end Derrick Morgan and South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.

I don’t see how they could possibly acquire any two of those players because of when they’re expected to go high in the first round.

The Eagles do have quite a few picks and they plan on making a splash early.

With McClain and Spiller off the board the Giants settled on Jason Pierre-Paul. I would have preferred Morgan over him but I trust JR.

Eagles didnt get Berry the cost at the end of the day was simply too much as we have uch more glaring needs. Brandon Graham is a beast and looks unblockable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQfcytu6ItI. This kid should compliment Trent Cole really well. Rumour was that Giants were hot on his trial so the Eagles had to move up, if this meant forcing the Giants to draft a potential bust in JPP its a very clever move both ways, only time will tell...

JPP's ceiling is higher than any DE taken in the first round. Morgan was the top rated DE in the draft and the Giants passed on him. The Giants were not hot on Graham. Their top 3 players were Spiller, McClain, and JPP. Philly media is just throwing around trash.

Hard to say, Philly would rather die than give up draft picks if they traded up to get him then there mustve been some truth to it. Last draft Giants were hot on Maclin and Nicks was their fall out option incase they didnt get Maclin which they didnt.. JPP was rated higher than Graham but the attitude is the issue if he has his head screwed on he is the real deal...

I have no dea which scouting reports you have been following, Romali. Attitude is not the issue with JPP, it's the inexperience that scared of teams. Had he played another heart at the D1 level he would be a top 10 pick.

I'm happy we drafted Nicks. He is a complete reciever and Maclin isn't.

I have been reading so many scouting reports I am going round in circles, one of the issue was that he seems to get lazy. I dont think the college level he played at is that big of a concern as you are saying since Nicks came out of a weak college conference.. To the other point; yeah for now I would say Nicks is ahead of Maclin..

Oh yeah I really liked Philly picking Nate Allen could turn into a stud FS for us, he was rated the top 5 safeties in the draft.. Puzzling why we didnt take Spikes or Griffin even though both were on board when we were on the clock...

I absolutely loved what the Giants did. Strengthening the D-line which really let us down big time. Loving the second round pick Joseph. This guy is going to be good. We got a first round talent in the second. The MLB we picked isn't a popular name but many experts believe he can step up and be a very good MIKE. We now have a deep D-line rotation and a strong secondary. I expect the Giants to release Rocky Bernard.

Yeap heard about that, so does this mean Ramses Barden might get a look in considering Hixon was also an important wideout also ?

Another day and another blow for the Giants. #rd round pick Chad Jones was involved in a horrific car crash in New Orleans. The car he was driving struck a pole and was demolished. He suffered a compound fracture in his left legs. Doctors are trying to save his leg as he had arteries and nerves exposed as a result of the compound. His leg might need to be amputated.

Romali, I honestly believe the Eagles are going to finish last in the East. They have a complete unknown at the most important position.
The Cowboys are the most complete team and should win the division. Second place is a toss up between Giants and Skins. The greatest conver for Big Blue is injuries.

Can't wait till we get it started!

Yeah I think so too, I know its only preseason but watching Kolb back there gainst Kansas City made me realise we are in for a high draft pick next year... Not having our rock at centre Jamal Jackson makes the line look terrible and also wish we took Hakeem Nicks instead of Maclin who just doesnt seem to be tough enough which is a big NO NO especially if he wears midnight green....

Heard a while back you have signed ex Eagle Shawn Andrews, I saw a bit of the preseason game against the Pats and he was just mauling their linemen. Problem with Shawn was he had a back injury and lot of mental issues causing him to miss practically 2 whole seasons. However if he is back to where he was when he was our pro bowl guard, then WATCH OUT you have yourself the best guard in the game.......

He's looked good i the preseason and I wouldn't be surprised if he's named a starter come Sunday. He's been through a heck of a lot and seems to have gotten over his bouts with depression and has rehabbed his back. This guy is an absolute beast. Blows defensive linemen off the line of scrimmage like no other in the game. Let's see if he can hold up for the entire season, physically and mentally.

Eagle fans are very nervous about parting ways with Andrews, most feel Eagles didnt assess the situation properly before letting him go. I can understand where the Eagles are coming from, I mean here is a guy who was costing them millions and getting absolutely nothing back in return. If he really does get back to his old Pro-Bowl form as mentioned above then we will consider ourself very unlucky...

    INJURIES, INJURIES & MORE INJURIES..

    1) Starting center gone for the season

    2) Starting Pro Bowl full back gone for the season..

    3) MLB Bradley who also happens to be the leader of the defence suffered a scarey concussion and a bit shaken up...

    4) Kolb suffered a concussion as well and just wasnt the same but I wouldnt call him a BUST just yet...

    Postives:

Michael Vick looked like the Michael Vick of old so could be in for some exciting times even though we wont make the playoffs....

And the finger pointing has started ..... Vick looked very close to a young Randall Cunningham of the late 80's their passing style along with those wild scrambles *Drooling*

Great game for the Big Blue D! 10 sacks and 2 QBs knocked out of the game, absolute @$$ whooping! G-Men now tied for the NFC East lead.

The Patriots sent Randy Moss back to the Vikings.

    W T F.

That guy was fun to watch. 18-1 was a great season regardless of the 1.
