2 European Cup in 26 years. Paisley would have won over half dozen European Cup in that many years. It was also harder back then to win European Cup as only the Champions were allowed. Neither of this years finalist will be even be in the tournament under the old format.

Which meant you could come up against Swiss market towns and Belgian fishing villages instead of strong teams that didn't win their league like you get now.

And are you saying that Heysel wouldn't have happened with Paisley in charge?

I disagree with this, the CL is far tougher to win now and I think the fact that no side has retained the CL under it's current format is testament to that

I preferred the CL to be just for Champions BUT obviously money dictates otherwise, in which case the name should be changed back to the European Cup

Also you seem to be ignoring the domestic achievements of Alex Ferguson
