Should We Avoid Key Venues Over Australian Security Concerns ?

Should we compromise and avoid venues like Karachi in order to make the Australian tour go through ?

I think this is an issue that will most certainly come up as the Australian tour is still up in the balance.

IMO if we can get the Aussies to come only by avoiding our major venues, then we should go ahead and do it.

The prime purpose of having them tour is trying to protect our image.

Does anyone show up for test matches in Karachi or Lahore anyway ?

PCB would be smart to schedule tests in places like Faisalabad, Shekhupura, Multan, Hyderabad etc.. and have the ODIs in Lahore or possibly in Karachi.

We'll have more enthusiastic crowds in these test venues and we'll also allay Australian security concerns.

We are not in a position to dictate what happens. Saying that security is not a factor would be a simple lie.

We have to work together with CA to ensure that the tour goes on by guaranteeing them full security even though we have to give up a venue or two.

Two to three weeks ago, i was in favor of Pakistan touring AUS but the security condition has improved a bit over the last few weeks and hopefully things will get better after the election. Lets hope the tour goes on.

Correct - Aus board will decide whether the team comes or not.

But I don't think Pakistan should have to give up anything with regards to the schedule unless there is one place that is clearly unsafe and much worse than the rest. Otherwise maybe next time a team tours Australia they might say "we don't want to play in Perth" or whatever.

The games should be held where the home country wants them - the purpose of a home tour is for the home board to make money off ticket sales, corporates etc and then that country returns the favour by touring the other country who then set the schedule and get ticket sales etc.

I totally agree, I don't see any logic in this that the Aussies should not play a test match in Karachi, what is our biggest city. And probably the board will earn the most in Karachi coz of tickets n etc.
Somehow I've a feeling that the OZ's will come now...I hope it'll happen.

Guys,

Venues like Faisalabad, Shekhupura, Multan and Hyderabad have had no suicide bombings or sectarian violence ...

How can Australia reject playing there ?
