Internet Cafes

Hi,

Im thinking of opening a internet cafe with my friend and just wondering if any ppers already own 1 or had 1 and if they can share any information and tips.

It seems like a simple idea which cant really go wrong but all advice would be appreciated

thanks

I have no idea but I will think you will need good coffee and snacks to attract customers and make money off that. Do the opposite and open a cafe and add internet to it.

Agreed with 12th man, there's no money in an internet shop. You're better off with a cafe that happens to have access to the internet.

At the end of the day it's all about location, you get the right pitch and you've given yourself a chance.

ive got an excellent location for an internet cafe but its too small to run as a cafe i can do basic things like just cofee, tea, cold drinks and choclates.
i no wat u mean buy cafe then internet but would need a much bigger premises with a3 consent and few other issues.

Depends on the market you're going for. If you're going for the desi market and it's in an asian area then stock up on calling cards, fags and paan, etc as well.

Not much money to be made to be honest with you, 50p ( which is the amount charged around my area) for an hour of internet usage which isn't much in returns.

Good luck though.

I have to agree with others. There isn't much money to be made from this business anymore. Unless you can do a cafe which provides internet at a cost or free you might attract clients for other things.Even then you need a decent size place for cafe.

Here in NYC. Most places that provide any kind of food/drinks provide free internet access not only that but have couches etc for customers can sit for extend period of times ie single cup of coffee for like like a hour.

Depends on the location and the market your going after however again not much to be made only from internet.

Find an IT job and earn £30K a year with paid holidays and benefits rather than buying a 24/7 headache for yourself in the form of investing in small business.

one thing you can do is add some gaming be it on LAN or internet. Make it like an half arcade and not just for browsing the internet.

let's say you have 10 computers. buy and install couple of games on 5-6 of them. Means every computer has it's own copy (cannot do illegal stuff) and let the people play games. charge more than internet use. it used to be 25 cents for arcarde games so you figure out how much by 30-60 minutes

At work long time ago once a week we used to play LAN games like DOOM or Heretic. It was fun
