02Thoeva's Bats

As requested by one member are the bats I'm using this season:

I'm rather fortunate and have access to some of the best bats, from the best players in the world.

The bat on the left is a 2lb 8oz full length blade used in the T20s by Andrew Symonds whilst at Surrey (also got his pads) I've updated the stickers for 2011 but you'll notice the shape is certainly not a stock one. The right was swapped with Gareth Andrew at Worcester, for his the bat he scored a hundred with at the Oval last year. We swapped back after winter nets, as the handle broke in this one. It's since been rehandled and restickered, and is in my bag for the season.

Brilliant bats, quality sticks!!

Both doesn't have splice.

Are spliceless bats officially approved by MCC laws?

Since you have played with pro bats and non-pro bats then do you mind telling us if there is a difference between feel, performance and quality? If so what is it?

Lastly if I am not asking too much which pads are they?

The CoR3 does have a splice. But yes, the 'spliceless' bats are approved by MCC.

No difference in quality and the feel is tweaked to the players specification. Some like a slightly bottom heavy bat. The difference is of course in the performance, they're the best of the best.

They're Super Premium pads in Black.

I need an eye test once again, couldn't see it first time, I can see the splice now.

So the 'spliceless' bats can be used in international games, any player uses them?

People say performance on pro bats is good because they are soft pressed hence they play well but don't last very long, how true do you think that is?

Also nice modification to stickers, 'TOMGOOSE' looks cool

They're not soft pressed, as a soft bat is just dead. Perhaps they're a little softer than a standard shop bat, but the performance comes from it being made from a willow cleft selected from 1000 and being shaped with the upmost care.

The stickers I had made for all the players and did a couple for myself

Ah okay, I had always thought pressing is which is what controls the pressing.

A off shelf bat on its peak and pro bat can the performance of these two be same?

Haha nice way!

What happened to Gillys, Dennis's etc bats?

An off the shelf bat can match a pro bat, yes. In fact I have on occasion supplied pros with a standard shop bat.

Sold Gilly's and the Aluminium bat.

It certainly wasn't a Screaming Cat, I'd have guessed at Indian made. It was a genuine Puma supplied bat.

I traded this MMi3, for his hundred MMi3. Then we swapped back when this broke. I got this rehandled and it's mind for the season.

I can confirm that Adam uses authentic BDM Bats , I feel bdm are highly underrated , msd and sachin used bdm for years and bdm STILL supplies Dhoni. I recently talked to Mr. Mahajan , who is the owner and got a bdm bat free of cost. HUGE , thicker than my trd and it also makes the ca look impote@t . Bdm bats ARE GOOOD.
