Watched it happen.
Awesome match, just annoyed West Indies didn't atleast get a draw. They deserved it. I actually think if they had drawn this match, they could have gone onto win the next one. All about momentum. This Australian team is very average. Got destroyed by England at home. Then they beat a very very overrated Indian team 4-0, and we suddenly think they are class again. Not too sure.

Oz's got the will of a champion. You don't have to have the best team to win most of the time. A good strategy and +ive frame of mind helps. As far as them Beating AVG ind team is concerned, Ind did well in South Africa. You can't discredit 4-0 whitewash.

My prediction of Oz 3-0 in this series is still looking good.
I think people are still underestimating how good our bowling attack has become since McDermott took over. |

As for our team, well since the disastrous ashes we have won 8 tests and lost 2 and haven't lost a series in that time. We aren't up to england or south africa's standard yet but we are certainly on the improve from where we were at two years ago. We are comfortably better than lower ranked teams like pakistan or sri lanka as unlike them we can actually win test series in foreign conditions. |

Great advertisement for a test match. WI shoulda won, by failing to dislodge the last three Oz wickets in time, followed by an attacking declaration, and by choking in the second innings, and by spilling crucial catches in the fourth innings, they put down a wonderful chance to win against a champion team that never gives up. From the middle part of the fourth day, all of batting, bowling and fielding came apart for WI.

WI won't win a test until the believe in themselves. Sammy had them playing scared cricket from the 3rd innings onward, time wasting, defensive fields, shoddy fielding, terrified batting.
They are supposed to have learnt these lessons in India last series. If they repeat them again in this one at home then they are stagnating under Sammy. He has taken them as far as he can, time to ditch him after this series, replace him with Pollard/Bravo/Russell/Holder (all good options) and look to K. Edwards or C. Gayle for leadership. |

I think Windies should try Pollard in test matches. The team lacks any sort of aggression which hurts them in matches like today.

I watched it live and that was a supper match. So gripping, I couldn't even miss a ball of it. That was really test cricket at his best.
Would have been better if Windies had 20-30 more scores! Well played to both team! |

Just like In test series in India, W.I batted well for 3/4 days but then weak mentallity kicked in when they were on top, just didnt seem to know what to do.
I said during commentary that it would be interest to see W.I mindset as game had become a 1 inns shoot out and they came out on the defensive. Whilst i understand W.I have to play conservative cricket to compete, when they do get chances to see a game through they need to be more aggresive. |
