Ricky Ponting overhauls Rahul Dravid to go second in run list

Australian veteran Ricky Ponting has overtaken Rahul Dravid to Ponting moved to 13,289 runs - just one more than Dravid - when he was out for 23 on day one of the third Test against West Indies. He remains some distance off Sachin Tendulkar's leading 15,470 total. The former Australia captain was caught by Darren Sammy at leg-slip off off-spinner Shane Shillingford before Australia ended the day 212 for seven. He was dismissed 10 balls after moving a run clear of Dravid, who retired from international cricket last month , without having added to his total at Windsor Park, Roseau. The 37-year-old, who has repeatedly faced down calls to quit, has made 165 Test appearances, having made his Test debut in 1995. Australia hold a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, with the second Test having ended in a draw.
