quite a few of those AWAY draws were near wins, check the double ton in 1979, 3rd test in 1986 in England. the Aus tour 1986 was similar too, India dominated all 3 tests but they were near misses(due to weather too).

Hayden is a bigger FTB with a similar POOR away record. This thread is filled with a lot of bias vs Sehwag. What about Jayasuriya?
WHY IS EVERYONE STUCK ON SEHWAG? BECAUSE HE IS AN INDIAN?

Agree with your point re draws... thats why stats are only indicative.

Viru is a bigger FTB than Haydo I thought.... happy to be proved wrong.

Nothing against Indians... also had quite a few runs scored in draws.

That was actually pointed at the posters who only remember Sehwag's average away record and not Jayasuriya, Attapattu, Gayle,Hayden etc.
I don't care what Sehwag's avg. vs Pak is, One thing which I always noted, is that the way he dominated Pakistani's bowlers (Akhtar and Kaneria specially) , the so called Indian fab4 don't even come close to averaging 45. against Pakistan.(after 2004). His FTBying doesn't change this fact. Asif had that one good test on a grassy pitch but is that enough? Sehwag did better in ODIs against him.

Don't disagree with much of that...

But lol at Jayasuria etc being amongst the best...

In the modern era Gooch has got to be up there!!!

Played in the toughest of conditions against the toughest of bowlers..... And succeeded.
