American cops beat schizo homeless guy to death

Just saw this on another forum, apparently happened in california.

Quote:
Kelly Thomas (April 5, 1974 – July 10, 2011) was a schizophrenic homeless man who lived on the streets of Fullerton, California, until he was beaten to death by members of the Fullerton Police Department on July 5, 2011. Thomas was initially taken to St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton after the beating, but was transferred to the UC Irvine Medical Center. He was comatose on arrival there and not expected to recover. He never regained consciousness.[2] Medical records show that bones in his face were broken and he choked on his own blood.[3] The coroner concluded that compression of the thorax made it impossible for Thomas to breathe normally and deprived his brain of oxygen.[4] His parents removed him from life support five days later, and he died from his injuries on July 10, 2011.[5] Officer Manuel Ramos was charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter; Corporal Jay Cicinelli was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of excessive force.
The vids quite rough so be warned...

a picture of the guy after the beating, very graphic

Each of those fat cops weigh around 300 pounds and they all sat on him

Man, these cops are beasts. That guy was pleading them to leave him and was saying sorry the whole video. Yet they treated him like a street dog and beat him.

All of the Cops present there should be tried for murder IMO.

did the guy do something to the cops?

even if the guy did something, beating up was wrong. cops could have arrested the person.

You'd think four Officers could restrain one mentally ill man without actually killing him.

The issue in the US is that too many common people have a blind view of "police are good", let them kill who they want

If you check out other videos, there is stuff of a 300 pounder choking a 12 yr old boy, or a woman being beaten black and blue by a policeman, and most online comments support the policeman with stuff like "he had it coming", "they should have beat him even more".

Americans claim to be a Christian nation, but so many of them seem to want revenge.

about half way through the vid you can see the cops tase the guy, its impossible to coordinate your motor actions after youve been tased once, let alone a few times like the vid.

Low quality post.

While a blind view shouldn't be given to anybody, they have that view because a majority of police are good.

You say most online comments support the police when they are doing something wrong. Can you prove this?

well my experience with police have been good.

very professional, nice and courteous....

with tens of thousands serving in the force........there are bound to be a few rotten ones..

thats y we can't judge the entire force for the actions of the very few
