Mafia game

Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place.

I play this game called Mafia on other forums, and was wondering if people on this forum would be interested in playing it. I'd need about 16 players to sign up.

Does anyone else here have any knowledge about it or played it before?

Just wondering if people are interested. If enough people are then I will try and get a game going.

The game's theme can be about anything, from your favourite program to Cricket even. If we get enough people, we'll discuss what kind of theme you would want to play.

Never played this online before, played it in real life with cards. Could work if enough interest is generated.

It's very entertaining online and probably even better. It's probably better online because if you are Mafia I will send you a link where only Mafia can talk to each other and discuss tactics. The main thread will be used to deduce who is Town or Mafia (or known as scum).

Basic rules are that Town don't know who town or mafia are but mafia know each other and as a result can work out that the rest of the players are town. Only way town can win is if they lynch someone during the day phase, by collectively voting for them in the thread. Mafia can kill someone every night after they discuss it in the QT (quicktopic link). Town win when there are no scum left, Mafia win when there are the same number of town as them or less. Mafia's main objective is to look 'town' so nobody suspects them and votes for them to be lynched. Town have to deduce who the mafia are.

Also most players will have a specific role which can help their cause. This is where the theme comes in. For example if you are town and your character is a fearsome fast bowler, you will probably be able to kill someone during night, when usually a town player can only lynch someone by voting for them during the day.

I'm interested altough I have never played this online Mafia game but I have a lot of knowledge about how Mafias are run, what their rackets are, ranks and hierarchy etc.
