Abdul Razzaq to play club cricket in Norway!

Assalamu Aleikum

So, Abdul Razzaq has signed for Jinnah Cricketklubb and is set to play a number of games for one of our teams.

I am not sure how many games he will play, but I think there are two matches that he is available for. Let's hope that the weather does not ruin this historic moment as I am sure A LOT of cricket fans will wan't to witness this.

Jinnah is facing Sinsen CC next sunday and two of my brothers will play InshaAllah and maybe my nephew if lucky enough to get in. Looking forward to this match.

But these guys are only amateurs. Abdul Razzaq will smash them all over the place I assume.

Hehe, I was thinking myself but was too lazy myself until now.

I was not there last time when Abdul Razzaq & Imran Nazir came for that T20 Festival match, but I think you wrote here that Imran Nazir got our several times, but the umpires kept giving no balls, etc?

Anyway, my team has a match the same day Abdul Razzaq is playing his first game in another city, so I can't watch that

But do you know if Abdul Razzaq is staying here the period between both games, or is he flying in and out from England for the games?
If he is here, then we should go when Jinnah CK have their net session.

Met Abdul Razzaq during his match today. Seems like a very good and humble guy. Unfortunately he missed out with the bat, made only 1 run if the reports are correct. I cam too late to the ground and by then he had already bowled and batted

Yes it was today. I knew that since Jinnah played against Sinsen and two of my brothers play for Sinsen.

Jinnah's next match is next sunday so if he is still in Norway he might play that match.

What excuses? And I am a fan of him just like I am fan of other pakistani players (ignore my signature for a moment).

And you should know that he is way better than amateur cricketers in Norway and then I just tried to explain why he might have missed out.

Yeah yeah I know how those wickets are. I play on those two. Hard to play but an international batsman should be able to adjust. No excuse.

So, I arrived a bit late as I was not sure to go or not and I had some stuff to do. But when my friends said they took a picture with him and put it on Facebook, then I had to get to the ground!

So I arrive (10 minutes drive from my place), and the car park is jam packed. People have parked basically everywhere and even on the grass. I park my car so the car next to it can not get out

Anyway, it is rain delay in the match, and me and my kuptaan go for Abdul Razzaq hunting, when we find him I hand my awesome DLSLSLSRSLSRSLR camera to another friend, and tell him to take many pictures. He takes a few, and one of them comes out really good

The inning resumes, I am making videos and taking pictures. Tried to take some for PakPassion, but not sure how lazy I am in uploading them.

Razzaq is playing sensible, a lot of single double and tuk tuk. And then he goes crazy in the last few overs, hitting 4 sixies in the last over I think.

One spin bowler got hit for a four, and then bowled a dot ball to Abdul Razzaq so he gave him the stare. After that Abdul Razzaq ne us bowler ko chorda nahin...

Anyway, no one told his his score, but when I came home I saw that he made 104* or 110*

Had to leave early, but saw him bowl one over. One good delivery where the batsman got beaten, but I don't think he bowled to his full potential as it did not look any fast at all and it was a shorter run up. Actually, he was hit for a six on his first delivery by a Sri Lankan batsman

And he fielded in the islips

All in all, a fun experience and very good for the small cricket community in Norway

And I think I spotted brother mrk or something, but as I do not know him personally and he was a bit far away, I did not go and do salaam

The major part of Norway is covered by forest, jungle, mountains and there is alot of fjords here.

Remember there live only 5 million people here where as the total area is 385 186 km².

So no surprise for us that there is a jungle close to the ground.

Not to be disrespectfull, but poor ground not well mantained. The standard of cricket is also below average....I live in Holland i allways thought we had **** grounds and poor cricket...but there its even worse. With so many desi's, there must be some good players.....

What do you expect, they're not even an associate team as far as i know.

A few facts:

- Most of our players are from the sub continent, a few Englishmen, Aussies, etc.
- We have only 4 grounds in the whole country, all artificial.
- 4 divisions and thousands of registered players (I think around 10 000?)
- Our national team are travelling to Samoa later this year to particiate in World Division 8, used to be in divison 5 when Afghanistan was also there.
- Participated in European Division 1 a few years ago, played vs Ireland, Netherlands & Scotland. I think we are in Division 2 now.
- Nordic T20 Champions a few years ago, beat Denmark in the final where Imran Nazir :iamlegend was our coach
- Recently got an U19 team, so yeah, there you have it
