Sreesanth vs Nel

The most disturbing thing I've ever seen. I've been scarred for life so I need to make sure I dont suffer alone.

After backing away and hitting Nel for 6, he ran down and started swinging the bat around whilst thrusting his groin in the most obscene manner.

Stuff that nightmares are made of

Frankly speaking - Nel was too embarassed to react ! And spare a thought for the Indian Physio ... what if Sree had pulled a muscle/tendon ?

Even though it was obscene, it shut up that "burden on this earth" creature called Nel. Just before that delivery, Nel walked up to Sreesanth and told him in a very animated manner, "It takes a lot of guts and most importantly, heart, to play out here". But boy, he was completely stumped after Sreesanth took 2 steps forward and thumped him for a straight 6 the very next ball.

Sree might have said that in his mind.

Sree shut Nel up the very next ball hitting a six, Nel was tooooooo embarresed to reply.

63.2 Nel to Sreesanth, SIX, MAX! good length delivery, Sreesanth makes room and lofts it straight back over the bowler's head. As the ball sailed away Sreesanth was hopping around waving his bat, rodeo style!

VIDEO!!!! must see video!

do you guys understand how revolutionary this is!!?? usually the show boating and gloating is the bowler's realm but i think sreesanth has ushered in a new revolution. now if only he had been born 70 years ago, maybe bradman would have been famous for his obscene gestures apart from his batting exploits.

Sreesanth and Nel are as mad as each other and both need a slap from time to time for their carry on.

On the positive side, though, Sreesanth has not let the aggressive body language disturb his thinking when bowling. He has not got carried away and banged the ball half-way. He has pitched the ball up and swung it away.

A superb display of swing bowling from him in this match.

They are a pair of complete and utter idiots, who would be better served joining the circus or being held captive in a zoo.

Its about time match referees and the ICC in general clamped down on behaviour of the sort that these 2 are showing on a regular basis.

then his girlfreind will definetly have problem. coming to the incedent i do not see any reason why we should be embarrased of it. i mean the Loud mouth Nel has been going on and on in the background of match refree snorting. i liked the fact that someone from asian subcontinent shut his trap although i wish he could have been a little more elegant with his steps but guys i could not stop laughing.

i just do not understand why asian team wants to wants to take message of peace on the cricket field. look at what new-zeland did to lanka. fine they were withing their own right to do it on technical ground but i am sure none of the asian teams would have done it.

sledging is an art of ruthlessly and cold-bloodedly dismantling the opposition and testing its mental resolve. so be it, i do not have any problem with what Nel does although Icc has been as affectionate toward him as it has been with fair skin.
looking at the state of the opposition this is what i would have been telling my boys to say.

1. Smith: stop sweating in your panty's and start playing
2. Nel: man i pity your mouth, it does so much hard work still get paid so little.

thing i like about shree is inspite of being teated step motherly lad seems to be bowling with lots of heart and mind as well. he is not getting carried away with it. i have been watching and listening to lot of crap and obscenity for years from South africa and australia espcially when they play a team from sub-continent. good you gave them a booty-full.

i think he turned around in disdain to show inzi that he did not care for what inzi had to say, rather than tremble at the sight of a lumbering potato.

dude relax... look at the video, its not like sreesanth is stumbling back or holding up his arms in a defensive gesture.

but lets be honest, if symonds walked down the pitch to me, yeah i would turn around and flee, if klussner walked down i would again flee, if flintoff or harmisson walked down the pitch, i would be sipping cool aide in the pavilion before you knew it. heck, even akhtar is menacing. but inzi. please. you could outrun him with one leg. inzi is more like the "gentle lumbering giant" hardly the mean bad azz you are painting him to be. sreesanth was not the least bit scared of inzi and i really dont see anyone being so too.

heck even that spectator he assaulted stood his ground when inzi attacked him with a cricket bat, so that just goes to show that inzi is like that old hairy bear that you cuddle, not fear.

Speaking of outrunning Inzi, the funniest thing in that final odi was Yasir "giving way" to Inzi on that chase. The guy is smart.

Sreesanth is an enigmatic personality. He is such an infectious character who brings up the spirit of entire team with his aggressive intent. At the same time he doesn't lose the spirit. When Prince was caught behind and not given out, Sree figuratively killed Prince with his eyes. But he was the first one to congradulate and pat his shoulders as soon as Prince reached his 50. He is quiet a character. From what i heard this guy is a quiet person outside the cricket field. He becomes hyde once he steps on to the ground. Outside he is still Jekyll!

This is what cricket lacks. Every other sport let athletes talk smack to each other taunt them do whatever to get into their opponents heads. I don't see anything wrong with what Nel does the man plays with his heart and soul and does not hold back. I dont see anything wrong with what....., well actually there was allot wrong with what Sri did but thats just his way of saying, I am a man and not afraid of you Nel in a very disturbing and non-masculine way. Thats what professional sport at this level should be like.

Problem is when everyone starts doing this !

Imagine the Indian team doing a Bollywood dance number at the fall of a wicket or if the Pak team sits down and does a Qawwali session!

Ok - extreme examples - this can get out of hand.

I agree with Saj - both bowlers and batsman should be asked to calm down.

Nel does that almost to everyone. Infact he had so many words for Rahul Dravid. Obviously he is bound to get back from someone. Personally dancing after a six is better than silently practicing racial abuse like Clarke, Lehmann.

One thing that is disturbing though is the way some South African commentators have been going on about how the match referee will be watching this and watching that, when Sreesanth is doing something stupid, yet these very same commentators just smile and giggle like schoolboys when Nel is doing the very same.

LOL, Sreesanth was only living out what every other cricketer dreams of - get sledged by a moronic medium pacer and next ball hit him over his head for six. I think you can excuse him given the circumstances. In addition to that I'd have gotten in Nelly's face and told him to go fetch it like a Labrador.

Besides, what's Nel going to do - bounce him with his slow-medium trundlers? He'd just hit him for six more. That's why you don't sledge unless you can put the fear of God into a batsman - either by taking his wicket or scaring the daylights out of him.
