An excellent website for those wanting to help...

http://www.risepak.com/

This is an impressive site designed to catalog and help disaster victims by providing upto date information for NGOs and volunteer workers

THE RISEPAK TEAM

This webportal has been made possible through collaboration between academics, researchers, and policy makers at US and Pakistani universities, multilateral organizations, various government departments, and individuals dedicated towards helping in relief efforts.

We believe in an open access policy so if you would like to be a part of the RISEPAK team please call or send us an email at team@risepak.com and tell us what you can help with. One of the biggest challenges we face is getting detailed information about each affected village and we welcome individuals who can regularly provide us such information. Such individuals will be acknowledged as RISEPAK Friends and listed below.

Our Team:

We would like to acknowledge the following individuals and organizations for their support in various aspects of the initial stages of the webportal: Dr. Tahir Andrabi (Pomona College), Dr. Faisal Bari (Mahboob-ul-Haq Human Development Center), Dr. Ali Cheema, Mr. S Ali Asjad Naqvi, Ms. Batool Zaidi (LUMS university), Dr. Jishnu Das, Dr. Tara Viswanath, Mr. Piet Buys (The World Bank), Dr. Asim Ijaz Khwaja (Kennedy, School of Government Harvard University), Ms. Marvi Memon (Inter Services Public Relations Department), Mr. Aamer Manzoor, Mr. Shahzad Naeem, Mr. Zeeshan Zafar (WOL), and Mr. Fawad Raza (NADRA). The Pakistan Population Census Organization and NADRA are especially acknowledged for their data provision and cooperation. Without this the portal would not have been possible.

As the portal grows we have the great pleasure to welcome more and more team members. We would like to acknowledge Dr. Khurram Afridi (LUMS), Mr. Naeem Ahmed (Amaana), Mr. Jawad Ali (Independent design consultant, CA), Ms. Sadaf Aziz (LUMS), Dr. Haris Gazdar (Collective), Ayesha Haroon (The Nation), Ali Dayan Hassan (Dawn/Herald/Human Rights Watch), Dr. Syed Zahoor Hasan (VC LUMS), Dr. Sohaib Khan (LUMS), Mr. Ameel Zia Khan (insanityworks), Mr. Miguel Loureiro (LUMS), Ms. Shandana Mohmand (LUMS), Dr. Sohail Naqvi (HEC), Arifa Noor (LUMS/The Daily Times), Dr. Roger Normand (LUMS), Dr. Asad Sayeed (Collective), Mr. Osama Siddique (LUMS), and Mr. Javed Williams (LUMS).
