Thats not true, Brazil has maximum number of users on orkut, followed by USA, Pakistan comes on number 3 or 4 check their stats. I signed up for orkut but barely visit it, only signed up to keep in touch with some old junior high school friends. Joined hi5 but never visited it again.

i too have signed up on orkut ....but have left it long ago after seeing a number of impersonified profiles of other ppl mostly politicians,religous leaders/saints mostly in an attempt to dis grace them

and worst still boys pretending to be girls and flirting wid other guys

I think its up their in the options somewhere, last time I saw it they had changed the layout of the orkut so will have to search for the stats page again. I agree with you Kashif the idea is good the fact that you can get any type of forum under one username but the quality of forums is so low that I would be better of going on IRC for a more serious discussion.

I have facebook, but thats slightly different as its for college campuses in the US. Its very good though.

But all these sights become online dating portals in the end. If I wanted that I would go to match.com or something. why waste my time here? Whatever happened to naseeb? I registered one or two years ago and haven't been there since. How is that community thriving?

I haven't used Hi5, keep getting invitations to join but never bothered.

Orkut is where you add your friends and you can join communities, message others, put up pictures, etc. Not really like PP in some ways.

Hey, I think Orkut's pretty nice. Compared to the other websites of such nature around these days, for example Hi5, Ringo, and WAYN I think Orkut is quite decent. If there's enough member from PP on Orkut we should think about making a community. I find it easier to stay in touch with my friends since you have control who you add to your list.
