Energy In the Field - A Lack of it

Ijaz Ahmed, Aamir Sohail, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, Javed Miandad, Imran Nazir and Shahid Afridi are just a few names that come to mind when we talk about chirpy motivators in the field for Pakistan.

I do honestly believe that any good team needs a few players who gee the others up and lift them when the chips are down. There were times during todays play and especially yesterday when the Pakistan team looked very flat and very quiet - which is a worrying trend.

Even the likes of Kaman Akmal, Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik were very quiet and flat. This is something the team as a group need to work on as the better teams pick up on this and will hammer home the advantage.

Your thoughts ?

i thought younis khan was encorgaing. You have to have a personality also for that and i think shoaib malik is a quiet guy and thats the reason he doesn't speak too much

As Ian Chappell noted Inzamam's highly laid-back style does have something to do with the lack of energy Pakistan sometimes show when not much is happening.

The one time Inzamam was really animated was the last day of the Bangalore Test a day in which he he invested a lot of energy. And certainly Pakistan were every energetic that day.

I have also noticed the lack of vocals from Kamran in this game, Its normally Younis Khan's role to keep the team motivated..but he seems quite flat in this test.. I'm waiting on Inzi's scheduled time-out time during our bowling sessions...hopefully Younis will start making his changes and liven up the game...

Afridi also seems to be a team joker when we field...

Well e=mc2 fits perfectly on Inzi. The more the matter the more the energy produced. But it needs light, a spark, to trigger the reaction, a reaction that then only a win can cease.

Thus, as it isn't said for nothing, when it matters, Inzi is there.

Well it wasn't easy to come up with that. First I had to derive the equation itself. Though I was expecting some scientist to do that at least. 1:

I think, Afridi was not around, maybe that was also the reason. Afridi is quite a cheer leader. I have a mix feeling about YK. Some where i read that he was quite a guy around and some place i read he had not been very exited today.

Rana also bucks up a lot and Inzi was all geared up and noisy ( atleast on the last day).

All in all, the spirits were high otherwise we never could have won the game

Well Yk has taken a lot of criticicm for 'geeing up players' and being a 'smily happy chappy' on the pitch...plus all the controversy of the Windies...dont blame him for being a little more subdued.

What gets me is the criticism he recvd here for not helping out-after getting murderd by Pakpassioners for doing so in the past!
