MIRPUR (AJK): Mirpur Development Authority has launched various development projects of public welfare and it would be completed in different parts of Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. said Commissioner Mirpur Division and Chairman Mirpur Development Authority Sardar Muhammad Rahim Khan.

Speaking in a Radio press conference Mirpur held last night (Friday), the Commissioner MDA said that at least ten projects of worth Rs.62 million would be completed in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir.
The Divisional Commissioner-cum-Chairman MDA said that the development projects are included three under construction parks in Mirpur and the construction work have been started, adding that would be completed within the stipulated time frame.

The MDA Chairman said that special attention is being focused to acquire land for the resettlement of the affected families falling displaced due to the upraising of the country’s second biggest dam in Mirpur district.
He said that the New City and four model towns with all latest amenities of life are already being constructed in Islamgarh, Siakh, Chakswari and Dadayal with the coordination of the AJK government.
Giving details of the ongoing relief efforts, he said in three districts of Mirpur division including Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimbher, the rehabilitation work is continued unabatedly and the facilities being provided to the October 8 earthquake victims.


He said that normal routine work is gradually started in earthquake-hit districts of Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot and Neelam and this could only possible through the ongoing hectic relief works provided by Pak Army, government agencies, civil administration, foreign teams, various national and international NGOs.

Sardar Muhammad Rahim Khan said that most of the affected families in quake-hit areas have been provided the financial compensation so that to reconstruct their damaged houses.

However, he said the comprehensive programmes are already in progress in the quake hit areas and hectic efforts are being made in the reconstruction and rehabilitation process.
