Masjid or Mosque?

what do u guys think when ppl call masjid a mosque....i want to know ur views on it.....why do ppl call a masjid, mosque in english whenever they have a conversation? or even on tele! is it the right word?

Its been observed that most of us write

"MOSQUE“ for “Masjid“ and even calling it

as Mosque in daily routine, what elders and teachers say that the

word “MOSQUE“ means the house of mosquitoes not

Masjid. So better be careful next time instead of writing mosque,

u can write MASJID it doesn“t matter..
Mostly we have seen the

spelling of MAKKAH as MECCA.
The word MECCA means “Sharab Khaana“ .
So lets all of us be careful of writing MECCA.

Many people whose name start with Muhammed, write in a short
form as “Mohd“. This “Mohd“ means “A dog
which has a big mouth“.
Guys please forward this message to
as many muslim brothers and sisters as possible .
PLZ BE CAREFULL
FOR NEXT TIME..

God Bless Us !

Ps: got that in my inbox today...........hmmm

pitch or wicket?

Urban myths would have you belive that 'Mosque' was a derogatory term initiated by the Spanish when insulting Islam ...who knows...who really cares? Its a place of worship whatever...

...surely its more important that we actually attend these places than discuss the merits/demerits of what they should be called.

Yeah it is said Mosque was derived from the word mosquito. So in other words mosque is a place where mosquitoes gather, at least as was put by europeans long ago.

I thought you were old enough to know that you can't trust chain letters.

When most people say mosque, they mean the Muslim house of worship and when most people write Mohd, they abbreviate it for Mohammed.

Your gullibility and lack of common sense amuse me. You can even do a search for 'mohd' on google and you will find that no dog is called that. Saying mosque or masjid doesn't matter because no one is talking about mosquitos when they mosque...there are better things to be worried about.

You have no knowledge either and are very gullible.

At least that's better than relying on chain letters for knowledge, which often turn out to be hoaxes.

Knowledge has to be from reliable sources not from attention seeking chain letters.

Mohd is not the name of a dog, just because some moron named their dog, doesn't make it a dog's name.
