S Keen = 18y 136d
AM Ritchard = 19y 3d
JP McNamara = 19y 4d
JM Holland = 18 264d

I was just checking the ages of the players for both teams earlier and i was kinda surprised at the difference, Australia had 8 players who were 19 years of age whilst Pak had 0, our oldest player is the captain Sarfaraz Ahmed at 18y 271d

We had 5 18 year olds and 2 16 year olds in the team

On average i think our team is about 16 months younger than the Aus team - they did superbly against more experienced players

That is superb statistics brother and the much younger U-19 pakistan team performed outstanding in all departments to win the second semi final in the U-19 cricket world cup to advance towards to the final MASHALLAH. They have done as very proud, i must say that hte future of pakistan cricket is very bright, the last pakistan U-19 team two years ago in bangladesh beat U-19 west indies team in the final to lift the world cup in 2004. May Allah give the present U-19 pakistan team strength and good luck to succeed on sunday against india U-19 team in the final INSHALLAH.Ameen Summa Ameen.

Interesting though our players tend to be a year or two older than the official records.

Henriques looks a good prospect but I dont think he will ever make it past the first eleven state side.. his level players are dime a dozen in Australia.. who can bat and bowl medium pace.

I thought everyone had to partake a test before being selected for the team?

nah i think the age issue is preety much sorted these days they carry out wrist checks and some other tests to verify etc.....and i think after 1996 everyone who played had their original birth date given (i say that because rana naveed failed the test n wasnt allowed to tour west indies the same tour shahid afridi was on..and called too kenya after that) so if there are a few dodgy ones then they know how to tackle the system me says

but good too see our boys beating austrailian men
