Congrats to the Pak boys for retaining the World Champions title!

We blasted out India in the Final today, of the U-19 WC Final, and thus retained the World Cup title.

MashaAllah, the lads look fiery and very lethal in their bowling.

Magnificent!!!

what a mtach it must have been...

I looked at cricinfo and it said Pakistan closing in on victory so i though they were chasing and were abt to win...

but when i clicked on Live Scorecard....it said Pakistan 109 all out....so for like 2 min i idint know what was happening...and i thought that they wrote the heading wrong...it should have been "India closing in on victory"

109 all out and then making India 6-9 after 3.2 overs...WOW !!!

Well done Pakistan U-19 for overshadowing the seniors loss....

Anwar Ali rocks...

They've beaten the 2 teams that were expected to win the tourny and the teams that were touted to have the strongest batting lineups, Australia and India, bowling both out for a combined total of 195 runs.

That proves how brilliant and unique our assembly line of fast bowlers is! Long may it continue, well into the 21st Century. We are the masters of this most fabulous cricket art and the envy of all others. We are truly fantastic at it!

Interesting to hear Ian Bishops views whilst on commentary about Anwer Ali Khan. Bishop said that he rated Anwer very highly and that he would advise him to just build up his strength (weight training etc) and you have a bowler who can bowl consistently quick as well as having the ability to swing the ball.

I thought a TERRIBLE day is coming up with our senior team almost losing and juniors had scored only 107. I simply could not believe my eyes when i read 9/6 . Before i checked the score, I was just saying that to myself in anger that " we need at least 5 wickets in first 5-10 overs. It would have been miracle but couldn't believe i was about to see something more than a miracle. 6 wickets down in 3.2 overs

I had to refresh the screen to make sure cricinfo had NOT been hacked by a frustrated Pakistani fan

These Pakistani fast bowlers displayed the Age old Killer instinct of Pakistani quick bowlers that Wasim, Imran ,Waqar and even Shoaib possess. I just hope the new ones specially Sami would learn something from this.. Excellet job.. they just refused to roll over and die and way they struck back so hard shows how confident they were of pulling a victory.. with a score of 109, you know u wont be able to defend it, you need wickets.. and thats the best way to win.. and wickets they took aplenty.. well done lads.. I am beyond impressed.

Pakistan have won last two world cups at this level which is great. Its been done on backing of sides having very good bowling attacks and some good all rounders.

The real worry thou is the lack of decent under 19 batsmen coming thru. Most of them are technically poor and i hope they imrprove quickly!

To bowl out a powerful batting line up while defending a megere score

Brilliant effort by the bowlers.

But one area of concern is the batting as Amjid mentions. It was ordinary two years ago - when Pakistan won the u-19 WC - and here again it was below par.

Plenty of bowling talent, but hard to see where the batting talent is.

That said I would much rather have strong bolwing than strong batting. Great bowlers can make a bigger difference to winning a match than great batsmen. Just consider how many Test losses Lara and Sachin have played in despite being the best batsmen of their generation, due to playing in sides with relatively average bowling for much of their careers.

The seam bowlers were brilliant those inswingers of Anwer Ali were lethal, jamshaid is also a very good bowler and not to forget Akhtar Ayub he also good and quick he bowled the last ball which dismissed the no10 142kph thats quick for indian batsmen who normally face 125kph in India.

poor batting does tend to be a constant in these level tournaments as well as with associate nation competitions. our bowlers did a better job of exposing the other top teams. great win!

What a win by the U19 boys. Their win has taken away any bad feeling from the senior's 4-1 loss. MashAllah there has always been talent coming from this setup but it was heartening to see the determination to defend a meagre total of 109. Anwar Ali Khan and Indian leggie Chawla, both future stars in the making.

Im so glad the youngsters won, they reduced the hurt of the seniors losing

I said i would rather we won this since it was a World Cup final

Our batting looks rubbish to be honest BUT our bowling is promising - no change there then

Anwer ali was very good today - his partnership with Akhtar Ayub was good cos this guy got the ball to go away from the batsmen which was crucial at the end

PP really needed this victory to lessen the depression of the one day series loss. Well done boys!

The batting does look below par. But I trust Aaqib who has called Nasir Jamshed as international batting superstar in the making. He would get there, InshaAllah.

Sore bad loser Prasad is claiming India lost due to their desire to knock the runs off quickly, when in fact according to Cricinfo, they were done in by excellent bowling...

With the first ball of the innings Gaurav Dhiman, India's trail blazing opener, chopped onto his stumps. Then, the madness really set in. Cheteshwar Pujara was trapped by Anwar's first ball, although he appeared to have got slightly outside off stump, before Rohit Sharma and Maynak Tehlan were castled by searing inswingers and incutters. After two overs, they were 8 for 4. It was surreal.

That wasn't the end of it either as, after what seemed like an eternity without a wicket (six balls) Ravikant Shukla was cleaned up by the ball of the match; it pitched off stump and held its line.

the batting was just rubbish..rameez raja was the only one who may actually make it...and that may be a long shot too!!...maybe jamshed too..the bowling was good though..jamshaid if handled well could be a reall find for us..he needs a bit more pace and he will be deadly..akhter could be ready for a go in the A team as he looks the strongest of the crop..anwar ali has a great inswinger but he needs to work on the outswinger and build his muscles up as his action may not be good in the long run...overall we have uncovered three more bowlers who can be nutured!!...but i wish we could have uncovered some batters too!!
