The Name 'AMAR'!!

Is the name Amar a muslim name or was it a hindu name? does anyone know?

This is the meaning of the name I have found:

'amar' from the name meaning immortal, he is full of energy, enthusiasm and exceptionally intelligent and well mannered.

'Ahmar' means "RED COLORED"

'Ammaar' means "One with strong Imaan. Also a Sahabi , one of the early muslims, son of Yasir and Sumaya Rad".

i think ammar and Amar are both muslim names , now im not sure what u mean by Amar, depends on how u pronounce it i guess, yar MERC what about the companion of the prophet (SAW) who was named Amr ibn Al Aas(RA). the conquenqeror of egypt? now that was AMR, then there was another sahabi named Ammaar (RA), whose parents, were among the first martyrs of islam, his mother Sumaya (RA) was killed(martyred) by Abu jahl i believe.
