Dont let Eng-SL series affect the Pak-Eng one
In the last month, the Lankans have messed everything up. They have beaten England so comprehensively (atleast in the ODIs) that Pakistan is suddenly under a lot of pressure to perform even better. Now how can Pakistan beat England more comprehensively than 5-0 is another thing though. The same goes for tests too, and there is an impression that since SL drew 1-1, Pakistan should make a clean sweep. Now things arent as simple as that. England was without many of its key players against SL, some of whom will return as the series progresses. Pakistan, unlike SL, have more than their own fair share of injuries too. Besides, cricket isnt so simple as to predict or expect results based on performance of a country against another country. All that matters is the two teams and how they play.
I think we shouldnt be bothered about what happened in the SL-Eng series and just enjoy this series. Any comparisons will not be a good thing because every match and every series is different!
