Let's cut out all the emotions and false hopes and be realistic!
Theres way too much speculation going on (and some of it is really too over-optimistic) and it's time we saw the things clearly and don't let ourselves run away with foolish hopes.
I am sure all of the readers - most of them at least - know ICC and all that it stands for. I don't think there is any misunderstanding as to the character of the dwarfs running the circus named ICC. So let's be realistic. To save everybody from broken hearts after raised hopes, this is going to happen. 1. Inzi will be banned for a few matches for bringing the game into disrepute or some such crap. The duration of the ban doesn't make any difference so let's skip that. 2. The ball tampering issue will be a stalemate and a case of one man's word against another's. The ICC, while may not put additional ban on Inzi, will however do nothing that will show that they are unhappy with Hair. 3. Pakistan will play the ODI (with Inzi because he would have appealed and the hearing would have been postponed until the ODI series ends) and everything will be back to normal, well as normal as can be under these circumstances. 4. As a result of Inzi's appeal, his match ban will not be lifted but will be reduced nevertheless. 5. Hair will never stand in any further match concerning Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and the likes. And in a very short time his career as an elite umpire will be over. I know there's nothing sensational in whatever I have written above but mundane as all this sure is, it is the most probable scenario we shall see unfolding in front of our eyes. I guess it's time to reschedule those ODI's with Zimbabwe for end of September.

If anything - a suspended ban is most likely.

Let's hope so, though they'll probably end up finding a lame excuse to actually ban him like walking off slowly when given out caught behind off his butt with no bat involved in the ICC champions trophy final. |

Momo, i am not expecting ICC to handover Hair to the firing squad. We already know that ICC would be hell bend upon saving their *****. What PCB also would like is a face saving result where both sides could call themselves victorious.

Given the way Hair's compatriot, Speed blurted in advance of the hearing, actually to take place on Friday, there is little in the name of hope or justice to be meted out. Reaction however ,on the part of our board officials, would mean a lot, otherwise west and its appointed umpires would keep such racist slurs and calumny flowing on our players.

I'm not so sure of our players not reacting if Inzi gets banned.
