Mohammed Asif- another Mohammed Zahid?
Zahid was a tragic loss to Pak cricket due to serious back problems. Asif, an amazingly talented bowler has burst onto the international scene in style- surely this doping ban will affect him mentally (and being out of cricket for a yr, will also affect him physically)...lets just pray he return's in a year as the same bowler he is today.

what are you guys on about??
asif is just 23, 10 years younger than Warnie; and i don't see ANY questionmarks trailing him as he takes sevenfors and sixfors... i mean it's sad news, but as far as i'm concerned, it only means ASIF WILL TAKE 300 WICKETS INSTEAD OF 400. he came back from his debut mauling, shows he has the jigar. |

I personally think that there is noway that Asif's ban can be upheld if he chooses to appeal. I think we'll see him bowling in a few months. How he deals with the negativity is going to be another issue.
Zahid was a tragedy but with him it was a case of losing his abilities, with Asif its just a taint of drugs. If he comes back strong people will forgive him. He's shown on the cricketing field that he has great temperament coming back from his horrendous debut in Aus. Lets hope he has a strong temperament off the field also. |
