one time they were sitting together. Alif was moking a ciggerate. Nanna asked for a drag and Alif says no. so Noon says "agar ciggerate nahi detay to dhuwan to idher pheko" that was hillarious

One episode that I recall, Allan sets up an antique shop ( by taking old household items and then taking the shine off them ) People ( high society types) come in to buy and pay exorbitant prices for items which Allan claims are like 100s of years old !
Nanna - being the decent simple man - keeps on telling the customers the reality !! hilarious stuff ! |

miggy bhai, for some reason i knew youd respond, it perhaps has a bit to do with ur old "curly" avatar....but haha yeah, i wish i could find the antique epsiode, and the car mechanic one somewhere. haha the antique one...some of my fav lines by nanna are "yeh kya hai?"....."yeh ILL hai" "kitna pyara bacha hai mashAllah"....after the customer refuses to buy "nikal jao yahan say, yeh KISS KA BACHA UTHA KAR LAY AYE HAIN?!" "umm yeh antique hai?" ......nanna: "yahan har cheez THEEK hai..." and to a customer with a huge moustache "apnee moochay katwa lain, koi cheez nikal kay kaat lay gee aap ko" |

Perhaps he only did "ALIF NOON" BTW I also didn't like his movies BUT his role in Alif Noon was just amazing. His real name was Rafi Khawer but NANNA was such a popular role that he started using it. Even the man behind ALIF NOON Kamal Ahmed Rizwi accepts that there would have been no ALIF NOON without Nanna. |

it was good. but imo, PTV has aired funnier comedies. though I have to admit I haven't watched the whole series.
saw Kamal Ahmed Rizvi after a long, long time on Katehra (Moin Akhtar's gimmicky ARY talk show). he's one interesting guy and is refreshingly blunt and honest. |

mind you when I say Alif Noon was only "good", I'm comparing it to Studio Dhai, Angan Terha, Taleem-e-Baleghan, Fifty Fifty, Ankahi, some of Uncle Sargam's shows, etc.
compared to the garbage aired these days in the name of comedy like "Jatt And Bond", "Kollege Jeans", "Rubber Band", "Alif Noon" was brilliant. |

My favorite was the cycle stand episode. Alan and nanna had spread some sharp nails all over the street leading upto the cycle stand so that they could do lots of business fixing flat tires. And when people left their bicycles with them they would rent them out to other customers. Finally in the end Nanna ruins everything by telling everybody the truth about their shady business and then people chase them with slippers. hilarious comedy!
