is it a reflection of the wider society (inlcuding the often experineced or alleged racism in Cricket circles, especially in Au, SA and England - or just cheap reality tv?

Cheap reality TV IMO. You can't take anything you see in these reality TV shows - particularly a "Celeb" reality TV show - as being representative of anything but an attempt to increase TV ratings.

I wouldn't be surprised if these people are given a rough script to work with, or told to behave in a certain way to create controversy. Either that, or they're really stupid to do this on national television.

Where is the petition against Gibbs? This is just the Bollywood / Indian media flexing its muscle.

I agree JB but still it affects you as a Bristih Asian or human being to a degreee because being called names (like, along the lines of : **** and go back to where you come from etc) on national TV does encourage this sort of behaviour from general public, especially people who will pounce on such opps?

Trash TV at its worst. Remember Jerry Springer? Where is he now? Once every redneck believed that he would change the society etc. Rubbish, feeding people's voyeuristic impulses. We just like to see the private life that people live beyond public gaze. This is p0rn with clothes on and people are shamelessly loving it (in public!). Anything to generate publicity, even if it is racism. Making money out of doing the wrong thing to boast rating! I am glad Carphone Warehouse saw through this and it backfired on C4 bigtime! This must be the worst form of public entertainment after the Bollywood trash.

its makes the front pages everyday now, (well atleast an indian makes it to the frontpage) and new topics on pp get made everyday is well.

looks like jade has commited career suicide by appearing on this show and her pefumes have allready come off the shelves, she will obviously be evicted today, she has allready been given police protection and the show what made her has now destroyed her, but it looks like now the show will mark the begining of shilpa and she will take over the success of jade and may grow even bigger then ashwariya rai.

Havent followed this too much but its sad to hear that a time when Britain has been hit by storms and people have died, 3rd rate stars such as Jade and Shlipapaple are being given so much importance !
