Mohammad Hafeez - not int'l class

This man is a test match opener. No really!

He is brought in as a specialist batsman with only 1 purpose. To bring more stability to the top order. He faces 5 gentle...let me repeat, the gentlest of gentle outswingers which any club level cricketer will tell you are easy to avoid, gets a sixth "gentle" outswinger, does not come into line, hangs his bat and gifts his wicket away.

This is NOT a bowling pitch, this is a FLAT pitch. There were no clouds, no breeze, not much humidity. The ONLY one to blame for this dismissal was Hafeez himself, or his non-existant stomach for competition.

Perhaps the most diheartening thing about this dismissal was, I saw no sense of purpose, no determination to stick it out there for the team and get them through those first few overs, as was his job!

I guess Inzi was onto something when he said this man is not international class. Pack him up and ship him off to Skardu. Please!

It was obvious after the home series against saffies a few years back that this guy was not int class and it is sad to see talents like mansoor amjad not being given there chance because the team is full of bits and pieces cricketers.

He deserved a recall into the squad as he was scoring plenty of runs with the A team and in domestic cricket, so the selectors cant be blamed for recalling him. But since his return, its obvious that he doesn't have what it takes. We dont play a test match until October, so theres plenty of time to find a replacement.

What is Mansoor Amjad? Have you seen what he has been doing lately? His club sides rarely give him a bowl and when he does he goes for plenty, and he bats as a tailender. So what is Mansoor Amjad now? A bowler, batsmen or a third rate bits and pieces player?

Mansoor has shown in his apperances domestically and for the A side that he can bat as high as no7 and get wickets with his useful leg spin and i would back him to average higher than hafeez in both batting and bowling after the same number of matches hafeez has been given.

PS How come your avoiding Dirk Kuyt thread on sports corner

No fighting sprit

Did you just wake up today, this Hafeez is same old Sh!te since day one i.e that is 2003 when he made his dabuet. When Sohail was cheif selector but at least he had guts to change the playing personal, now Barie and co this is what you get a reflection of the selection policy of this man and his Crony's .SPINELESS, SHAMELESS etc, etc.
