Brilliant Ramiz Raja takes the mickey from Arun Lal!

Last over of the game, Sachin brought on. Arun Lal keeps emphasizing that India can win if Sachin picks 3 wickets in 3 balls ( / )...then Ramiz says:

"well Arun, you have spoken like a true Indian fan"

brilliant, absolutely brilliant! ;)+ in between those boring, obvious comments, Ramiz does make some brilliant ones from time to time!

Look if Aamir Sohail continues to bash his team on tv then why should Arun Lal do the same ? Our comms should take a lesson from Arun - be patriotic but dont go overboard!

No i dont agree there aamir sohail also praises the team alot when they do well its just when the team does silly things he might get fustrated and go overboard but i agree with most the things he says except the things about hafeez.

The whole commentary team just sucks. Arun Lal, i have no word to describe how pathetic he is as a commentator. Manjrekar tries to be smart and makes stupid comments. ("India got the early wicket but there was Butt"). How unprofessional can these guys be. Ramiz Raja sounds like Gregg Chappel or Ian Healy in front of these comms. Ravi is average.
Last game we had about 90 more runs to go and Aamir Sohail was like " Pakistan on verge of winning this game" 90 more runs anything can happen.

Pls dont do a disservice to Chappell or healy by even mentioning them in the same breath as Ramiz.

I whole heartedly agree that the commentary team is pretty poor aside from Ravi.

Question is, given that you would want 3 commentators from the participating countries who would you pick.

For India I would pick: Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle.

For Pakistan : I only know of Sohail, Raja, Wasim (who is pretty average) Waqar (who has just started) ... is there anyone else on your domestic circuit with promise?

I quite like Arun Lal as a commentator. He knows his limitations and what you get is a decent, well balanced, coherent 20 mins of commentary.

Rameez/Manjreaker should just elope...

The best Pakistani commentator would be Sikandar (bad)Bakht. While hes on the air, you probably wont hear any insight, but you will learn about piyala cuts and sheesha wickets

I like waqar Younis he may be a lil emotional when pakistan are losing or get hard decisions against them. But you can tell he always wants pakistan to win so much which u dont get with other pakistani comentators, for some reason Ramiz Raja sounds like he wants india to win and aamir sohail just changes like the weather.

MIG I have to agree with what you said. Sohail should learn to be a bit more patriotic like Arun Lal. Dont get me wrong a commentator should be as unbiased as possible but the way Sohail goes on and on about the team you would never have known that this guy did at one time play for Pakistan!

I really enjoy Rameez's commentary and he does want Pakistan to do well but maybe at times i think he gets far too professional. He should still remember that he is a Pakistani at the end of the day.

One thing i find really hilarious is when any of the Asian commentators use English phrases or sayings. Maybe because they never get them right!

E.g. "Hes constantly been a thorn in their flesh" - Arun Lal.

Also they invent some really crazy ones

E.g.
Arun: Afridi on a king pair
Rameez: And he breaks it witha king shot. Regally put away through square leg.

sm332....

the best Pakistani commentator is Imran Khan

Waqar Younis I enjoyed listening to. And I agree that you could really tell that he wanted Pakistan to win.

Ramiz tends ot be overly critical of Pakistan and a bit too praising of the Indians.

Aamir Sohail can be brilliant for 5 minutes and then suddenly start talknig rubbish.

Wasim I have never heard.

If I had to pick 3 Pakistanis I'd go for

Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Sarfraz Nawaz

I hate it when Ramiz says "Cool as a cucumber" what the hell is that crap! He is a college grad, however this analogy is so bogus that it irritates me. The only Indian commentator I like is Shastri, Sohail and Ramiz sadly leave a lot to be desired.

Full of it yes, but he has got tremendous insight. He hasn't been on the scene for more than ten years for no reason, you know.
