Sabina Park

Cricinfo's description:

"Sabina Park, the home of the Kingston Cricket Club, is situated in the driest part of Kingston and for many years the pitch was one of the hardest and fastest in the Caribbean. But in recent years the surface slowed, despite attempts to restore life by relaying it on more than one occasion."

Click here for a link to recent ODIs at Sabina Park.

Considering the relative bowling strengths of both squads I would suspect the the Windies would produce a wicket suiting fast bowlers more then it would suit spinners.

So what's this mean for us ?

Firstly this should go against the inclusion of Kaneria in the final 11.

Secondly I hope our batsman and especially our openers are up to it. Bowlers like Taylor and Collymore really troubled us in Pakistan of flat wickets. In addition Bravo is also healthy now so the Windies will be throwing a decent fast bowling attack at us.

yeh the ground staffmen will try thier best to make a bowler friendly pitch and try thier best not to make a spinner assisstance pitch cause as WI don't have spinners and can't play spin well except from LARA and C.Paul

but i think the nature of the pitch should support spin and if it doesn't there is no point playing Kaneria as we would still have 2 spinners Hafeez and Malik i think we should play ARAFAT in place of kaneria as it will give us batsmen as well as a bowler along with GUL ,RAO and SAMI

Nothing to worry about, we should play with our team with Kaneria and our three pacers. We enough bowling to fall back to. We should look at out strength rather than look at the negative and think Oh My God whats gonna happen. Never afraid to lose as long as we play positive and aggressive cricket. Go with positive attitude.

Since Afridi is not there Kaneria should be playing. But isn't ICC overlooking the pitch preparation? If there is any indication going by warm up matches the pitches are all new and who knows how they will be on the first week of the tournament
