Which way is the bus traveling - Preschool test that you won’t pass

“In which direction is the bus pictured below traveling?”

Look carefully at the picture.
Do you know the answer?
(The only possible answers are “left” or “right.”)
Think about it
Still don’t know?
Okay, I’ll tell you.

The pre-schoolers all answered “left.”
When asked, “Why do you think the bus is traveling in the left direction?”
they answered:
“Because you can’t see the door.”
How do you feel now ???

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that these preschoolers were American [Right Hand Side Driving]. The important thing is the logic of the answer.

Thats the main point. Imagine a bus travelling for which you cannot see the door. It means you are seeing the drivers side of the bus. Now tell me which direction the bus is possibly travelling to?

It has nothing to do with intelligence. Anytime anyone is picked up by a bus (in virtually all cases), including school buses, the bus moves to you in a rightward direction (in countries like America, where we ride on the right side of the roads).

This actually shows how the pre-schoolers have very limited reasoning capacity, in that instead of answering "either leftward or rightward", they answered the direction the bus has travelled in their limited experiences.

In other words, in their heretofore memories of life, they have seen buses moving rightward a lot more than they have seen buses moved leftward (relative to them), because the schoolbus arriving to pick them up to go to school...has been moving rightward. There's a subconcious bias that they haven't come to grips with like a more fully developed person would.

If they had fully reasoned it out like an adult would, they would have come to a more logical conclusion: there aren't enough clues to make any judgement on its movement. Or they would have come up with the following answers.

It's not a bus (just a drawing but hey)
How can you tell it's moving at all, there's no real info in the picture why can it not be moving:
sideways (on ice)
backwards
up and down (on a boat)
down (no floor, gravity)
up? (rockets??)

I like the pre-schooler's answer compared to the "logical thinking" above. pre-schooler's did more logical thinking I guess and gave the answer. Adults are just arguing about it

true, but in asia, the door would be on the left side of the bus, while in the usa the door would be on the right side of the bus. looking at the picture and the nature where the question is coming from i suppose the bus is in the usa as it is already told in post number 2, and the driver sits in the left side of the bus. so the bus would obviously travel in the left direction, but then again it can also travel in the right direction if we take this question accroding to asian point of view, where the driver sits in the right side of the bus. then the door would be on the other side of the bus, and the bus would be travelling on the right side.

this question is more about one's perspective of how he sees stuff, that is y the kids in usa gave that answer , because that is wat they see and comprehend.
